The virus still coursed through her body like fire fanning out in every direction. She felt hungry, thirsty, hot, cold, and nauseated all at once. Her head was swimming in pain filled delusions as the Hunter growled at her to move. With her arm jerked upward, she was on her feet though still dizzy. Fingers dug into her arm guiding and supporting her. Her feet moved with great difficultly, and she recalled a funny memory of a drunkard outside a bar. But that humor was quickly replaced by the fear gripping her tighter and tighter. The Hunter had destroyed her emotionally and physically, causing her very being to ache with a grief so profound she thought she’d never recover. Her eyes watered, but no tears fell as she retreated further into her memories.
