A glimpse into the future when Bing is a gorgeous five year old stallion (and ladies, he's single-----------------
Year 25
In five years, Penny’s colt, Bing had grown into a gorgeous stallion ready to take on any show ring. In truth, Penny had been showing the horse since his birth by only in small shows, but now they were getting ready to take on the big league. After Penny had worked Bing through his bucking days, Lucinda had started training both Penny and the colt hard in saddle-seat equitation etiquette.
Tightening the girth of her cut-back, Penny took hold of her reins and lead Bing out into the arena for the day’s training. Lucinda nowhere to be seen, had already become satisfied that Penny wouldn’t “ruin” the stallion if left unattended.
“Ready for some fun, boy,” Penny scratched Bing’s ears before hoisting herself onto his spotted back.
Penny settled herself into the saddle, and asked for Bing to walk with a light squeeze to his sides. The stallion responded perfect, and Penny let him settle into a comfortable flat walk. Penny loved the smooth gait, and was thankful Bing hadn’t turned out like his half-brother, Tango. Tango was a breathtaking gelding, but a nightmare under-saddle. No matter how much Rose or anybody worked with him, Tango was still switching between a gait, a pace, and a trot. Bing on the other hand had taken naturally to his gait, and the pair glided around the large arena.
After a good half-hour of rail work, Penny stopped the stallion in the middle and asked for him to back. Though crooked Penny was satisfied with the back, and steered Bing toward the gate.
“Alright, now for the real fun. Ready?”
The stallion bobbed his head as if agreeing.
Stopping at the gate, Penny leaned over Bing’s neck and unlatched the sturdy white gate. Bing stood still as the doors swung open waiting for Penny’s command. Asking for a walk, Penny directed Bing towards the forested area next to the cross country field. The pair wandered through the woods, and walked the trails until the sun started to set.
