I never thought about WHY Hoborg put the cannon there.
Air defense, perhaps? Against things such as Evil Engine #9? Or maybe just because he foresaw that his sons would have an unhealthy interest in shooting stuff.

Possibly! I personally think it was air defense like you said, because anything threatening the Neverhood has to come by air. And it could've worked against Evil Engine Number 9 buuuttt... I don't know why they didn't use it! Would've been anticlimactic i guess.

Or they were just too busy staring at the sky or, in the case of more quick-witted Hoodians, running in circles screaming like little girls. (Big thing with BIG teeth. See the resemblance to weasels?)

Even though I've just recently come into the fandom, over the past year I have enjoyed your work and much of the others I've met in this fandom as well. I can say honestly that I will be a bit sad to see this end, but it was a lot of fun reading through it over the course of a year.
