Background: dorito did not start life as a kitsune. he was a wolf who grew up under the iron rule of the tomato frog king. in this world, reptiles and amphibians ruled over the mammals and birds. he would often see mammals and birds suffering as slaves, and starve whilst the reptiles and amphibians ate like kings and nobles.

one day, he sought audience with the king and argued his case. the tomato frog king laughed in his face, arrogantly stating that he was the king, and the animals living under his rule were living as he intended. he did not intend to feed the mammals or the birds. they were pawns to his mighty empire.

whispers broke out of a rebellion, led by mammals and birds, against the king. dorito joined the rebellion, back then known as lunar fang, or just lunar. lunar fought against the kings army, trying to find a way to stop the horrific things he had seen from continuing.

as he fought, lunar came across a magical orb, left in his room at the rebellion. the orb was hidden in his fur, and seemed to help boost his strength. he eventually made his way to the king, wherein the orb activated. lunar awoke to see the king encased in stone, and the renmants of his throne room around him. the orb was nowhere to be found...

as lunar helped to establish a new world order, with a new king lion coronated, he was unaware of the danger he was in. one of the old king's mages managed to find a time when lunar was alone, and toss him into a portal.

lunar was now in an unfamiliar world, and was also a new creature. he had changed shape into a kitsune, and tired to find a way back home. he was unsucessful, until he met a strange skull headed creature. at the creatures request, he followed the exiled.

During the Dream: lunar remembered the times he had helped others during the famine with jokes, and generally looking for food. he remembered the time he and a mouse friend had found a potato in an open field. he remembered sharing the potato with his friend, and the sweet taste of the food he would eat after he overthrew the tomato frog king.

After the Dream: he awoke to find himself in a strange room with a scary looking blue creature. using his special blanket attack, he managed to repel the attacker, before running off. he soon found himself hiding from more mysterious creatures, until a pair of them found him. then, he tried to get away again, before being cornered by angry blue, and the calming creatures. they explained that they had found dorito on the lake shore unconscious, and had brought him here. not fully understanding what was going on, Dorito decided to go along with it for now, in order to find out more about his new "home"

MAGIC
dorito has the ability to create anything out of thin air, as long as it is potato based, such as chips and crisps. he can also create garnishes for the potato dishes, in the form of pepper, salt, sauces and cheese powder. any kitsunegami who eats the potato dish will feel a little better, and can even recover from mild problems, such as cuts and bruises faster.

dorito can also command his potatoes, who can become sentient if needed. they are as fragile as normal potatoes though will mostly attack by swarming smaller creatures. they can meld together to make potato beasts, though this is rare, and more powerful than normal potatoes. these beasts cannot fly, even if they have wings, but they can blast pepper potato, which has the same properties as fire, and chilled potato, with the same properties as ice.

INHERENT MAGIC: healing. dorito uses this healing ability to try to heal emotionally, using his potato based powers as comfort food. his healing abilities also allow him to help other kitsunegamis to heal faster from more mild afflictions.

AURA:
Dorito's aura is invisible most of the time, and invokes a sense of hunger in kitsunegamis. even those who have recently eaten will want to snack on something potato based. when it is visible, the aura can be seen creating little lights that form different meme like shapes, such as troll faces and frogs on unicycles. this is only when dorito has gone full "memelord mode" and has no other effects, other than making everyone hungry, and looking strange.

PET:
dorito has a small bunawk, named miles. miles is a cheerful fellow, and will often twirl his singular tail about, trying to fly with it. he is Dorito's right hand bunawk, and loves to tinker with dorito's meme stash, creating new memes to be used.

Dorito's sanctuary is... interesting to say the least. it looks like a field of potatoes to the ordinary human, but if they leave a special offering, or speak a joke in the presence of a certain spot, a giant potato shaped shrine will appear. when approached, the shrine gives off a glow that vitalizes and energizes even the weariest of travelers. sometimes, flying memes will float about the place, for some absurd reason. if dorito is feeling in a mischievous mood that day, he may appear before the person visiting the shrine and ask them to choose a paw. if they choose the left paw, they are given a potato that will play a prank on them, then disappear. if they choose the right paw, dorito will smile and vanish. the person will then be unable to speak unless it is in memes for the rest of the week.

if a similarly mischievous soul enters the sanctuary, dorito will lead them into the potato shrine, where the two can talk about prank ideas. the person will leave with not only new knowledge, but a small satchel filled with prank supplies, including a potato shooting water pistol, which only shoots out mashed potato when filled with water.

Coffee- protector/guardian. dorito protects coffee, and will often let him have a ride in his fur collar, or on his head. in return the little mouse gives dorito lots of love and appreciation. and he tries his best to groom dorito's collar, "trimming" down the dorito dust when it gets too long.
