Tip: if you angle the camera or your light so that it does not directly hit the lens it will reduce lens flare Nice work though, light painting is tricky at times.

so i have a question, do you have to have a certain camera for light painting?

DarkAssassin069 In reply to iiJUICY [2012-02-28 18:37:35 +0000 UTC]

You can do it on ANY digital camera, you just need to have the shutter speed at more than a second as Pythonlt said and a tripod will be very handy as it will be hard to write something straight if the camera is moving all over the shop.

Great effort on the light writing Pyhonlt you should check out my gallery I have some funky stuff, I've been slightly obsessed with light painting for the last month.

Hmmm its more of a video camera but try putting the camera in manual mode and from there you should be able to manipulate the shutter speed if you can get to manual mode that is.

Night mode is good, you have to put the speed of your camera at more than a second
