Description
Saved – End of the Amethyst Twins"Defensive Corona!"
A wall of fire roared up inches in front of Sailor Zephyrus's nose. The soldier was forced to step back as the flames flared up at the impact of Ame's massive attack. However, the wall absorbed all the energy, effectively protecting Sailor Mene and Sailor Zephyrus.
"I think not," a strong voice called arrogantly.
"You're a myth," Ame gasped.
"That's what I like people to think," the voice answered. The owner of the voice leapt into sight. At first she was not a very intimidating figure, standing much shorter than Zephyrus, even in her boots. However, the woman carried her short, dark skinned frame with one who had power and knew how to use it. It was not hard to guess who the woman was from her uniform. From under her short black bob was a golden tiara with a gold gem. Her skirt was red, lined with gold and a sun broach adored the red bow under a bright orange sailor collar.
"Guardian of this system, bearer of the power of the life giving sun, warrior of ultimate justice, I am Sailor Sol," the woman announced.
"You don't exist," Ame declared again, despite the soldier of Sol standing in front of her.
"I think she does," Thyst muttered weakly to his sister, propping himself up in the snow bank where he had landed.
"Thyst, you're alive!" Ame cried, moving towards her injured brother. Sol had a different idea. Her firewall quickly moved through the snow and kept the siblings apart.
"Neither of you moves," Sol snarled, both of her hands raised, glowing red, orange, and yellow alternatively. "And if either of you think about teleporting, you are going to be sun fried. Now, since Mene's already done part of the work, you both have a choice. You can surrender and allow Mene to heal you of all the negative Chaotic energy, or you can die. Think fast, because I am not patient." To emphasize her point, the fire dancing around Sol's hands intensified.
"Ame, let's just make the reasonable choice," Thyst instantly pleaded. "We can be rid of Garon and go back to living in peace. This was never our fight."
"I will not give up my power!" Ame screeched, her body beginning to glow with an amethyst aura. Ame, Zephyrus noticed, tended to shriek a lot.
"I am not kidding around," Sol threatened. The wall of flames disappeared as she stepped towards her purple haired opponent. Although Sol was shorter than Ame, there was no doubt who held the power. Zephyrus took a step forward, ready to blow Ame or Thyst away if needed.
One corner of Ame's mouth twitched up into a smirk. Sol's golden eyes widened as the negative power in the area suddenly increased.
"Purity Schism!"
Mene's voice rang clear through the air. There was no visible sign that the moon soldier had attacked. She stood with two fingers pressed to the crescent on her tiara, her chest heaving in exertion. Zephyrus was unsure of what had occurred or if anything had happened at all.
A bloodcurdling scream rose from Ame's throat. The woman dropped to her knees, both hands clutching her chest.
"What is this?" she cried. "What did you do?!"
Mene's eyes were wide in horror. She had no idea what she had done.
"Ame," Thyst called, reaching out.
"Now you really have to choose," Sol said, regret almost audible in her voice. "Sailor Mene has just turned your own evil against you. It is attacking the good left in your body, along with anything else it can find. That pain will not stop until you are purified or until you are dead."
"No matter," Ame said through clenched teeth. "I will never give up my power."
"Please," Thyst begged, tears coming to his eyes and freezing onto his eyelashes. "Sister, let yourself be healed. We can be safe and live in peace again."
"I'd rather die," Ame said, falling forward into the snow.
"Please," Thyst pleaded again.
"You've made your choice then," Sol said. The fire in her hand began to grow, shooting arcs into the air. "SOLAR FLARE!"
The soldier of Sol unleashed the power of her sun onto Ame. The sun's fire arched from the soldier's hands, consuming Ame completely. Zephyrus briefly remembered a battle with a monster where that very same attack reduced the beast to a pile of goo. The memory brought the realization that it had been Sol who had saved her life that day.
Ame only screamed once, but that sound of anguish and pain was so terrible that would haunt Zephyrus and Mene's dreams for weeks.
When the fire disappeared, Ame was gone. No ashes or dust remained. Instead, three starseeds glowed where the woman had been moments ago. One of the starseeds had a faintly purple cast, and shot into the sky immediately. The other two glowed bright crimson and pink respectively. They slowly ascended to the stars, and then shot off into the galaxy.
"So," Sol said.
"Was that the source of her power?" Zephyrus asked Sol. Thyst and Ame's drive to attain Mene's starseed had given her the hint that the starseeds of certain individuals carried immense power.
"Yes," Sol answered simply. "Do you have anything that isn't yours?" she asked Thyst, whose face was starting to ice over with tears at the loss of his sister.
"No," he managed to whisper. "I didn't know Garon had given her those."
"Well, at least they are being returned."
"Where are they going?" Mene asked tentatively.
"Back to the Galaxy Cauldron. Those two bright ones were the seeds of sailor warriors. Though they may not have planets or stars to guard anymore."
"You're right, they don't," a voice snarled. Zephyrus was getting awfully tired of voices coming out of the darkness.
"Gale Force!" she shot in the direction of the voice.
She didn't get the resounding thud she'd been hoping for, but the speaker did leap into view. He was tall and lean, but his hair was voluminous and spiked. It was also a deep crimson auburn, just a shade of red darker than his eyes.
"Go away Garnet," Thyst hissed, still half lost in his grief. "You don't need to gloat. And not a word about my sister."
"I wouldn't waste my breathe on her Thyst," Garnet snarled. He held himself as one who considered himself above everyone else in the world. "That bitch is dead. And you're powerless. I'm sure Garon will promote Opal and me now. He still wants every starseed of power on this planet." Garnet was staring quite pointedly at Sailor Sol. Sol's golden eyes narrowed, and in challenged her body became enflamed.
"Just try it," she threatened, the flames around her body intensified. "Tell Garon I dare him to."
"Oh, I look forward to it," Garnet shimmered and disappeared.
It took a few minutes, but the fire around Sol finally disappeared. The riverbank darkened noticeably without the presence of a mini-sun. Zephyrus noted that a fair amount of snow had melted on the riverbank. She wondered what the citizens of the city would think when they came across the battle scene in the morning.
When most of Sol's temper had dissipated, she turned on Thyst. "What are you doing here still?!"
Thyst looked around then ran off into the downtown reached of the city.
"Oh shit!" Mene exclaimed. "My mom's gonna kill me!"

This was awesome!
I'm really liking Sol, she takes no shorts from anyone!
Mene's last line was hilarious. She's just awaken as a Sailor Senshi and all she can think about is her mom killing her! LOL!

Yeah, Mene's pretty awesome like that. Sol, um, would rather fry ya than listen to your case.

Awww, poor Ame! She dug her own grave though, I feel more sorry for poor Thyst now! I wonder who the rest of the starseeds belonged to...
Hmmm, it's going to be interesting to see how Mene's going to take all this! And yay for Sol!

I tried to think of a way to keep Ame, but it just didn't fit. She was too power hungry for Sol's liking.
The starseeds probably belonged to the other sailor senshi of Ame and Thyst's system.
Thyst may make a reapearrance. Maybe.
And Mene, well, she takes it. Not necissarily well though.

Haha, yeah, Mene's reacting will be interesting! And hopefully Thyst will be nice, and act like a good boy. He's kind of cute when he's not being semi-evil and all.
