Description
Aaah, I had quite a few name ideas for this piece, but I stick with my theme of minimalism. "It's the Journey that Counts" was the one I was mulling over. Ah, well.I had feared for a while that my art would not be up to par with Journey's beauty, but in a way, the game challenged and inspired me to try something new with my art. Indeed, the mountain was the first and last thing I drew, and I had to revamp it when I was close to the end. Only then was I satisfied with the piece, but not thrilled. Art will always require progress!
On a random note, Journey has a phenomenal soundtrack that adds to its cinematic beauty. It's hard to believe how artistic video games can be in-game. o3o

Journey is a game by thatgamecompany, owned by Sony, which I do not use its concepts for anything except a test for my artistic skills.

I dunno if I will. My motivation was exhausted on this piece. Great game, yes, but what more can I do? (That's not rhetorical.)

I could. But I have no motivation to. X_x
Nope. I learned about it from a previous game of thatgamecompany, and I explored it via videos from there.

I don't know the game that this is from, but the art is pulled off impeccably! It looks so serene and quiet.. I love it.

It's called Journey, as it turns out. It's a cinematic sort of game that pulls at your emotions.Β It really deserves a playthrough (It's rather short--you can finish it in ~2 hours) or a walkthrough to really experience what it's like.

I don't really remember. X3 It feels like it took 3-6 hours altogether, but I break up time working on sprites.

Might you explain clearly what contrasts and colors are weird?
π: 0 β©: 1
ThKaspar In reply to Quanyails [2013-03-24 19:48:59 +0000 UTC]
Mostly the red colour (the characters outfit) and the contrast of outline (outfits outline to be specific). Outline shouldn't stand out that much for me but the colour of his/her clouthes should. But that's just my opinion...

Quanyails In reply to ThKaspar [2013-03-24 20:21:14 +0000 UTC]
You say the outline should be like of that on the gravestones, perhaps? My idea was that lines are sharper if they are closer to the 'camera', and blurrier when they're further away.

ThKaspar In reply to Quanyails [2013-03-24 21:27:00 +0000 UTC]
Idea is good, perhaps just the outlines colour is too outstanding for me...
π: 0 β©: 1
Quanyails In reply to ThKaspar [2013-03-24 21:38:24 +0000 UTC]
Heh, the rest of it has subtle or no outlines, so that does provide contrast!
