Another thing why it isn't real, I would've eaten the donuts before I could even take the picture. X)

woah this is even better than the cup!!!
I don't use 3d stuff, i might have mentioned that but it looks really nice. I think as improvement, if you start getting into more complex shapes, you could make the donuts more squishly, because they look a little stiff.

Thanks man, I'll keep that in mind!

This is a specTACULAR first render dude!!! Β Did you even utilize some Depth-of-field? Β Congrats!Β

QuarkBlast In reply to EradifyerAO [2017-03-18 02:38:16 +0000 UTC]
Thanks man!Β
As for the depth-of field, I used Photoshop to replicate that effect for this.
I'm still trying to get a grip on how cameras work so I might be awhile before I use actual depth-of-field.
Anyways man, thanks for the feedback. I'm really surprised this gained a lot of support.

The fact that you used "steam" in your first render means you will go far... Β I am still trying to get the hang of correctly rendering smoke in Cycles...
π: 0 β©: 1
QuarkBlast In reply to EradifyerAO [2017-03-18 05:11:34 +0000 UTC]
Thanks, but the steam was Photoshopped as well.
I don't know how to render smoke as well with Blender.Β
But, I really wanted to add some steam so I used something I'm better at, Photoshop.
Here's what I actually rendered in Blender with adjustment:Β sta.sh/025kr8s4s1n9
I'm not in the level of skill that I want to be in Blender, but I'm trying my best to improve.
But I don't want to give up Photoshop entirely to pursue Blender so I'll be using both together when making art.
I'm grateful the support I got and it makes me want to continue making art.
Anyways, I think I talked so much already so I'll end this here. Once again, thanks again!

Ok, fair enough. Β Your honest. Β Just know that it *can* be done with Blender (as a general rule). Β Still though, you have done a fine job for a very first render!

It must've been emotionally draining to draw this, seeing as you were hungry for doughnuts? xD

QuarkBlast In reply to RAMWOC87 [2017-03-18 01:55:47 +0000 UTC]
Sort of... XD
Though, I was already drained with our clearance week.
We need to get our clearances fully signed in order to take the exams and it was tiring. X_X
So yeah, not really much emotion was drained by this.Β

Oh! So in a way, this was kind of relaxing? A nice break from the hard work?

QuarkBlast In reply to RAMWOC87 [2017-03-18 02:18:43 +0000 UTC]
Yep. The itself is a double meaning.Β
It's called "Taking a Break" the image shows donuts and coffee, something I would consider a relaxing snack.
But I also called it that way because making this was me taking a break from the crazyness of my week.
So that's why I named it that way.

Oh, boy, 3D modeling...
I don't think I'd ever be able to pull that off.
Great job, man!

Well, as long as you can invest the time and effort to learn, you could actually do it.
I watched this really long tutorial series on YouTube and it's totally worth the time.Β
In case you want to watch it (It's a few hours long though):Β bit.ly/2mF7xUY
Plus Blender is free, you just need a computer that can handle it. I'd recommend you'd give Blender a try.
Anyways, thanks man!
