This picture is like a year old HAHAHA. I meant to upload but I just... forgot or something. Oops.Studied Shae and Felix's faces just for fun, practice in getting consistency I guess. Shae turned out to be remarkably easy to draw, and Flex's hair and goggles... well. They are a pain in the ass. No wonder I haven't drawn him lately T_T
Surprise! Now you know Flex's spooky seeeeecret. The vampire design is based on a dream I had a really long time ago... about vampires. The forehead nostrils and glowy veins serve a purpose, but I don't know how to explain without sounding like bullshit

Hmm...I always figured there was some face spittage involved in the line (this just inflates my ego knowing I wasn't that far off the mark) but this is a lot more normal than what I was imagining hahaha. I ADORE the various facial expressions . . . and Flex is such a flippin' sweet Vampire, a lot cooler than the normal stereo-typical "pretty british" vampires. Don't get me wrong, I love vampires, just....I'm tired of them but Flex is such a RELIEF. I LOVE HIM. :0
Shae is so cute...I don't know if it'd be egotistical to say that her look and facial expressions remind me a little of myself. Damn I probably could do that with my hair (the cowlick) but I'd probably look like an ass if I did. . . my family members would probably cut my floppy bangs off to stop me from doing it hehehe. I love Shae's green hair too. . .not enough people do green hair. Green hair rocks.

whoa Felix is really scary in the scariest way possible... you know the way that leaves a scar on your imagination and then you have nightmares about it for the rest of your life...? erm, that might just be me too. I tend to be very easily impressed by odd looking stuff and then my brain spawns horrible nightmares... Like I haven't seen nor played Silent Hill but just by talking about it to some folks I had the worst nightmare ever. Then again, I'm part of those who couldn't sleep because of the first Jurassic Park movie, I'm lame that way XD

lol I'm sorry I just love vampires so much, but especially ones that actually look like monsters. I love creepy looking stuff, I'm actually most freaked out by gore. I can handle spooky and bizarre but hotdamn ultraviolence makes me want to hide under my bed

You don't have to be sorry, I think it's better if unnatural creatures are really something unnatural, not just some odd human whose gender is uncertain and whose features are like "meh what's that". I'm not too hot about ultraviolence either, even when it's the point it's too much and it makes me completely hook off from whatever movie/game/book I was enjoying.
As for Felix, I'm happy to know he's a nice guy

Yeah it's on hold. My attention span circulates between stories... right now I'm in ELF mode. Elveselveselveselveselves. Shae's story is going to be on hold for a looooooooong time, just because after I made up all the characters, there were still no real ideas for plot. Actually I also just think her story is an excuse for lots of over-the-top fight scenes lol. So whatever. I actually want to finish something for once too, so I'm glad I can focus on the elves right now.

You know what's freaky? My name is Felix and my housemate who lives just above me is Shay. Not spelt the same but still.
I guess neither of us is as cool as your characters though. I'd love a tongue like that.
Only thing that's a bit odd is that if Felix's face is pulled back from that seam down his face, then shouldn't there be eye holes at the side of his head, and an uneven edge where his lips are? It probably looks better without those details, but a bit of story explaining why they're not there might be useful in case you ever have to draw him half-transformed.

Heh, yeah. This was something I thought about for a while cos I had some old sketches trying to see how his face would fold up more "accurately" but they just looked really cluttery and awful. I think the skin just folds a lot, into depressions in the sides of his demon face, so it functions like the fold in an eyelid. Where I can conveniently hide all the extra skin from his nose/lips/eyes. >_>; I guess. This doesn't explain why there isn't a crack where his mouth was other than I DONT WANT TO DRAW IT LOL. I should just add a small line or something though... maybe
Also I will "cheat" with this, hehehe! He would be either one or the other because the change is really quick like a blink. The muscles work so that it would be very difficult to have his face partially open. Also he can't keep it "open" for very long before he gets sensory overload.

He's a vampire, with... two faces I guess. The seam down the middle of his face opens like an overlarge eyelid sorta? He was human once but when he became a vampire his human skin became more like a... covering, with the "real" demon skin underneath. HAHAH it's hard to explain without going into something ten paragraphs long T_T

It's good to see people coming up with original designs for tired old mythical species.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that this is MARVELLOUSLY creepy and kind of beautiful at the same time.
I'm sure you get tired of being compared to other artists, but the inner vampire face reminds me very strongly of that Marliee Heyer book, the Forbidden Door.
(which is only the most beautifully illustrated picture book of all time)

omg! when i went into my watched deviants thingy and say that you had posted like 3 pics in one day i like totally flipped. i so love your style, it haas inspired me to a) try and be more creative with the clothing i give my characters and b) yeah learn how to make the cloths look like they have weight and volume of their own.
