Taken on the same night as the Leo Triplet Galaxies. [link] love the shape of Bode's Galaxy on the right of the image.I can't really remember the image details except the basics, which were:
The usual 350D, 8"f4 scope
Approx 30, 40-50 secs exposures
Dark and flat frames used in Deepsky stacker
Photoshop used for final magic
Thanks for looking

Yep, that's true, deatils are great. BTW. Do what do you think is the best object for 50mm f:1,4 on normal tripod? I thought of Orion first.

Nice! Quite some detail in there! Is this a b/w version? I don't see any colour at all.
Focusing is still difficult to me

Thanks you, thank you Man, you're right. There's no colour. I haven't touched any colours during tweaking, and no, it's not a b&w version. It's funny though, becasue i've just been playing with some astro pics in PS using the different coloured (RGB) channels. It makes a hell of a difference. Our friend Sven told me about trying that. I'll tweak some colours in the future. The other negative is the star trails!! I'll hopefully sort that out soon
What's wrong with your focusing mate?
Cheers

And, for the tiny startrails (I see them now since you said so), try the deconvolution method, with such small trails it will be possible. A friend of mine once eliminated startrails with a black (as in 0,0,0) brush in photoshop...also in the centre of M31...

Focusing is sooo difficult with our Takahashi, it is very sensitive to the smallest adjustment. I need some sort of 'micro' focus knob. Or I use my notebook, so I'll see bigger images of the stars.

We have the option to get one, but the idea of buying one has not yet transformed into the act itself...More important is a 2" focuser.
