to be honest, I think twilight would be Gryffindor, trixie would be slytherin, Starlight would be Hufflepuff, and Moondancer as ravenclaw

My favorite pony Starlight as a Slytherin totally fits considering how incredibly powerful she is. π

I personally view Starlight as a Huffulpuff: even thoug Β it was in a hypocrite way all she wanted was Β for all the ponies to be equal, what inicieted Β her start of darkness was the lose of a frienship, Β and in later seasons she has showed a great desire Β to be trusted. Β I am not saying that Β Sytherins can't possess this traits but I belive huffulpuff (Which would you rather be? Trusted Which of the following do you find most difficult to deal with? Β Loneliness Β Which of the following would you most hate people to call you? selfish) Β is a more suitable house based on her overall character.
Ps. don't forget that the sorting hat value above all Β what traits you value the most (thus the reason Gilderoy lockhart was a ravenclaw and Β Peter Pettigrew Β was sorted into griffindor)

It can be considered a different canon. I believe it was said at some point that officially it's our choice whether we want to consider it canon but the main show will never reference it happening in canon episodes (slice of life was non-canon and basically an amazing gift to us). My main point is I can see why someone could choose not to include it. I love Sunset Shimmer, but for a few reasons I personally like to consider Equestria Girls a separate canon. I couldn't say how this artist feels on that though. They could have just wanted one magically gifted girl per Hogwarts house. Honestly I think out of all characters the best Hufflepuff is Sunburst and Moondancer is a perfect Ravenclaw.
