Description
Finally, sold some work so I can buy specific materials instead of using random scraps!These are black walnut and Baltic birch plywood, stained with minwax water-based stain.

I started making these as art, using finishes like shellac or various oils and sometimes paraffin wax, but people insisted on being able to use them as drinking vessels, imagine that! Being made out of segments of laminates, all dependent on glue, I decided to use something reliable and long lasting, and not requiring maintainance, after trying several such finishes, I've settled on spray enamel from a can for it's ease of use, and rapid drying time....and yes, it's nontoxic when dry. (if the dozen or so sources I checked are correct)

Ok i see. Is the gloss level very high on the enamel or are they photographed right after the application so they almost seem 'wet'?

Yes, it's high gloss. btw, This finish dries to touch within about 5 minutes.

Oh it has to have a good amount of hardeners in it. But it sounds very handy indeed. Whenever I can, I use industrial and fast-drying finishes. Especially when I have to apply many coats to the product.
