Description
Damn laptop hinge broke, so I have to use a box to keep the lid up. Anyone else ever had this happen? >.>Keywords I used for this one: "broken busted piece of shit laptop"
And yes, I do have a desk. Why do you ask?

Thanks! I'd think it was cooler if the damn thing wasn't BROKEN!

Yep. Still operates normally, but the hinge is broken. The lid flops around without supporting itself, hence the box is there to hold it up.

Better yet, since class doesn't matter, I could take a roll of black and white checkered duct tape and wrap 23 times around the hinge. Stiffen things up a little, yeah? Or! Or I could built a square out of 2X4's and attatch it to the side? One screw could go in the headphone jack, since that's already shot, and the other one...I don't know where it'd go. More duct tape, I guess. Failing all that...I could fill a bucket with water, dunk this turd in there with the lid positioned as I want it, freeze it overnight, then chisel away the ice over the keyboard and trackpad the next morning. I like the latter idea the best, personally. It would solve the overheating problem as well.

No friction to keep it in the position I put it. Hey now, until this point it's served me well! Anti-HP, I take it?

dunno what gave you that idea... unless it could be the HP LCD display on my son's desktop system that failed completely 1 week outside of warranty... or the firefox plugin's that work beautifully on my desktop but freeze his HP solid... or the HP camera stories I'm reading here on devArt.
