GIANT FILESIZE AND IMAGE!
Promised myself I wouldn't make this tutorial so long. Opps.

Cross-stitching is quite simple. Don't let the length of this tutorial scare you D: It got longer as I added in the tips :c

I was surprised to see there wasn't much cross-stitchers on dA. Even more when I saw there wasn't a lot of tutorials on this D:

This tutorial covers the basics of it.

I started cross stitching around early 8th or late 7th grade when my mom got into it. c: She used to be a fashion designer, so she was good at sewing. Most of what I wrote in the tutorial was taught to me by my mom ^^ She is awesome. c:

Enjoy~

Oh, PS:
Thank you for the support, favs, comments. I haven't gone through all of them (I have some from the start of May!) but I promise I'll be looking through and replying to them today.

Thank you so much, and I really mean it.

I'd be afraid to stitch my hands to whatever I was making, but if I did try this stuff, I'd totally use your tutorial.

This looks like a lot of fun to do ^^

I don't think I'll attempt this any time in the near future, though... currently I can barely do anything that resembles sewing, and I pretty much suck at the stuff I do know I really need to ask my nana to teach me one of these summers...

Perhaps I'll try this some day, but I don't think it's the thing for me personally >.<;; lol I'm most likely gonna stick to paper crafts and cooking.

Thanks for making this though. ^^ The tutorial itself is UBER cute! ^^

Aww don't say that. Maybe cross-stitching will be one thing you'll easily pick up on c:

But whatever works for you ^^

And thank you very much! :3

Ooh! Really nice! :3 I always learn something new when I look at your tutorials. C: I've never taken the time to cross-stitch, and I have a kit from who-knows-how-long, and I might dig through my stuff and stitch something sometime^^!

Not to pry or anything, but...honestly, that sticker tutorial...I wish you could've made. After seeing your stickers, I was thnking, 'Holy cheese crackers! I wanna make stickers!' So I searched the web for some tutorials that had the stickers clear, but...they didn't...or at least not that I could find... It was all just some cheap ugly ones that I make all the time. D:} Darn it. You don't have to make one, it's just that...well...heck, I'll just admit that I wanted to know how to make stickers for my own selfish reasons. :C Yeah. That was a lovely comment. Forgive me.

Much love,
Sha <3

P.S.

You know when you made that star-making tutorial? Well, ever since you made that, I've been making stars at school and randomly throwing them at my friends^^. I even made a few paper star bracelets. ^o^. They're too cute! Thanks. C:

RainCookie In reply to crashappy [2009-06-18 23:22:03 +0000 UTC]

Aww thank you so much!

Ahh I'm sorry :c Maybe in the future I'll get around to do it ^^ ;;

(Oh, haha ^^ Paper star bracelet sounds so cute! c: I made a paper star necklace once--but it was really pointy and hurt so I just keep it in a bottle c: Thank you sharing this to me! Really makes my day a bit brighter xD; -shot for being cheesy- )

Ooh! Ooh! And, guess what?

I made my mom some stars and she put it in her back pocket, but she forgot they were there and sat on them!

The funny thing was, that they were so strong that they hurt her buns!

This looks like soo much fun XD
When I was about five I use to do cross stitching but I used a kiddie guide where they already picked out the colours and what you're doing for you XD
I was a lot of fun so I should pick it up again. This is a lot of help for when I decide to do cross stitching again ^^

Ahh, this is a fairly cheap art project c: The hoop, fabric, and about 5 thick, colrful packet of strings would only cost you less than $15 c: Probably close to $10.
