EDIT 3.02.08:// [ FAQ ]Q: Where do you buy paper star strips?
A: You can for sure buy paper strips at any Korean stationery store. You can probably even buy online? If you really can't find them, however, you can make your own; 15 x 1 cm paper strips.
Q: Help! I'm stuck! I don't get this?
A: Basically you're trying to use up the whole entire strip of paper until it runs out. What you're basically doing is this: take a flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold that... Tuck them under whenever you can as shown in step 4. Good luck!
OMG HUGE FILE D:
I sort of made a mistake by making this tutorial with those paper strips -.-;; I've always used 15 x 1 cm paper strips to make paper stars but these new ones are like... 19 x 1 cm D: If you use 15 x 1 cm paper strips, you do NOT need to cut! It should be perfect and you should be able to use it all :> I didn't know this but the new paper strips I've bought are strips used for both paper stars and paper hearts x_x;; oi.
Not the best tutorial out there...
probably one of the worst, rofl.
I never take requests--ever! But this is the one time I've fallen for it D: Ohnoes! Dx
GOOD LUCK!
Look forward to ANOTHER tutorial soon!! <3<3
For what? D: It's a secret! >:[

All well, I guess practice makes perfect then...

I looked at a bunch of other tutorials, and so far this one helped the most! Thank you so much!
My stars are still a little lopsided, but I think I just might need practice.

I got from your description that you can buy them in Korea... so what actually do Koreans with them? Is it just some kind of decoration for sth or something else?
*is interested in paper stars*

Oho, we make our stars differently...Personally, the traditional method on the sheets that come with most star paper packets works fine for me. But now, I feel that I must try your method! It's very good that you've made this tutorial, though, since I've taught a lot of people over the ages how to make these little stars. :]

People eventually fold in whatever method/way they find comfortable. I actually don't fold it the way I did during the tutorial. I start the pentagon on the far right side of the strip now :)

Ah yes, so do I. I prefer that method, somehow. Or maybe that's just what I'm used to doing.

My paper star tends to be bold on the one side, and sunken on the other side ;u; HELP?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RainCookie In reply to akirataka [2009-08-14 20:36:02 +0000 UTC]
That problem usually occurs if you're pulling too tight or too loose while folding in under the flaps.
Practice makes perfect (or close to perfect) so you'll usually start getting it after some trial and error :)

Ah I think...I found my problem after all these years! I've always made one end long, so I wasn't fliping it to other sides. Resulted in a lumpy non penagon shape...and a ball of paper. D:
Thank you, I can't wait to find my old paper strips and try this again!
