Description EDIT 3.02.08:// [ FAQ ]
Q: Where do you buy paper star strips?

A: You can for sure buy paper strips at any Korean stationery store. You can probably even buy online? If you really can't find them, however, you can make your own; 15 x 1 cm paper strips.

Q: Help! I'm stuck! I don't get this?
A: Basically you're trying to use up the whole entire strip of paper until it runs out. What you're basically doing is this: take a flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold that... Tuck them under whenever you can as shown in step 4. Good luck!

OMG HUGE FILE D:

I sort of made a mistake by making this tutorial with those paper strips -.-;; I've always used 15 x 1 cm paper strips to make paper stars but these new ones are like... 19 x 1 cm D: If you use 15 x 1 cm paper strips, you do NOT need to cut! It should be perfect and you should be able to use it all :> I didn't know this but the new paper strips I've bought are strips used for both paper stars and paper hearts x_x;; oi.

Not the best tutorial out there...
probably one of the worst, rofl.

I never take requests--ever! But this is the one time I've fallen for it D: Ohnoes! Dx

GOOD LUCK!

Look forward to ANOTHER tutorial soon!! <3<3
For what? D: It's a secret! >:[

Basically you're making a dent at the sides of the pentagon to create a buldge--if that makes any sense

I mastered how to make these, but my problem is how to pinch the sides. How do you do it?

RainCookie In reply to JapanPhilippines [2009-07-30 07:31:53 +0000 UTC]

Usually I'd use a long nose plier and pinch the sides. I used to pinch it flat, then puff it out at the end. Or you can use the pliers to "push" the sides inward.

Or if you don't have/want to use pliers, just use your nails and pinch. Hold a corner of the pentagon between your thumb and index finger, and pinch in.

Hopefully that made sense x_X;

RainCookie In reply to emmil [2009-07-28 20:18:09 +0000 UTC]

Ohnoes ㅠ_ㅠ !!

Just try to make a perfect pentagon shape. Whenever you can take a flap and put it under a fold while keeping the pentagon shape, pull it through.

Hopefully that makes some sense x_x;

My pack of paper stars has something written about it for the wish thing... Stuff happens when you make:
1, 55, 66, 99, 101, 129, 548, 999 and 1000.. But it's all in Chinese and I have no idea what it says
I think that 1 paper star is love though, as the kanji for 'ai' in Japanese is the same and kanji ARE Chinese...

My pentagon is always weird xD

RainCookie In reply to Reami [2009-07-02 01:27:30 +0000 UTC]

:c When I read that, the thought of crippled stars in crutches and wheelchairs came in mind.

...anyways.

Hmm maybe try folding tighter? Or looser, if your pentagons look like they're folding weirdly inward D:

Yeah :c Folding stars usually results in pretty stars and sore fingers. Long-nose pliers works wonders c:

Yeah, you do make yours differently... XD It's cool, though! I learned the Klutz way to do it, so it's interesting to see this one... Unfortunately, 1.00 packs of star paper don't exist this side of the world. XP Nice and cute tutorial! ^^

RainCookie In reply to theoriginalhappydais [2009-06-01 00:59:23 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

Ahh, no harm in making your own I guess :] Sometimes they also sell paper strips in regular stationery stores ^^ (I'm sure they also sell them online; I know etsy.com has some)

theoriginalhappydais In reply to RainCookie [2009-06-01 01:50:51 +0000 UTC]

Yvw! ^^

I got a few on eBay one time. (Shipping got meh. XP) I usually just make my own out of printer paper. I recently learned that the paper strips you get off of old-school-computer paper is the perfect length and strength for stars!
