Description
This is a look back on a little history of my artwork and just trying to help show people that practice really can help. All the ramblings in this are my own personal opinions. If you feel differently, that's great! I'm not trying to tell people HOW to do something, but more just show them what has worked for me and what I've personally gone through artisticly, in hopes that people can learn a little when it comes to practice, hard work, and patience.
This isn't true for ALL artists! ^^ Each person has their own way of doing things and how they learned. This is just ONE example.
Thank you for reading.

You know what? You just stopped me from quitting learning to draw. I thought I was improving and asked some artist friends to critique, and their general response was "This is pretty sucky.. You have no 'natural' talent and you should just quit".
Randomly stumbling across this made me remember that despite what those guys said - nobody is born with a sketch pad in one hand and a Prismacolour in the other. So I'm gonna carry on practicing every day until I'm good enough to start sharing my work.
Thanks =^-^=

Wow, this really is very inspirational. Sometimes I feel like my drawing will never improve, but when I look back on some of my older artwork, I see that I'm wrong. Hopefully I will continue to improve as you have.

Good luck! It's best to just keep on going, even when you feel down sometimes. I know I feel down about my stuff quite often, but as cheesy as it sounds.. never give up!
Patience and hard work pays off. :3

Very true....I get better almost every time I sit down to draw....It's interesting, and inspiring, to be reminded that even the best artists started out not knowing what they were doing.
Keep up the good work!

Thank you! And you keep it up too. :3 That's just what happens though.. new things come up each time you draw, you learn something everyday, but it takes TIME. It just makes me sad when people try hard, compare their work to someone else, but don't take in mind that other artist may have schooling, YEARS of experiance, and so on and then get really sad and don't want to draw anymore. How much I wish I could of just woken up and magically been able to draw, it didn't happen, and I just wanted to show others that. :3

I must admit you've come quite a long way, Raiyue. And yet you still improve as time goes on.

Some how I feel lik you're missing steps but your art changed a lot. We'd be here all night if you went over every step.

yeah, that image would of been like.. 50 too 100 inches if I included each step. Which is why I put in that "LOTS OF STUFF BETWEEN THEN AND NOW!" comment between the old and new. I might do a little mini timeline, without all the babble to show the examples of each stage, just to show a more indepth.. but by the time I got to where I was there, It was.. like 1am and I really needed to sleep. XD

So true. Art is changing constantly, when I look at stuff I drew less than a year ago I think "What?"

hehe, awesome work Raiyue :3 funny to see your "oldest" works go back to 2004.. my oldest "serious" drawings are from back 2000.. but you have developed faster than me. you did it in 2 years while I needed 6 years XD however, my drawings were 5 times less than the first shown up there xD but I was 10 years old.. so.. *shrugs*

It's because I started art school back in 2004. :3 So at that point, it was a smack in the face and like, "Oh wow.. I really need to start drawing, don't I?" XD I actually have like.. a doodle or two I did back when I was 7, but I didn't draw as much as I should of when growing up. Too busy out playing and playing video games. XD And about your other comment, I'd love to see your timeline as well. It's so neat to see how other artists have progressed and changed as well. I'll make sure to look for it. :3 I wasn't watching you.. O_o but I am now!

Those words are very true and should be followed by every artist out there. ^^ Really amazing to also see how far you've come in that amount of time.

A lot of it IS my schooling, since I feel I have people breathing down my neck saying "get better, get better, or you won't have a job. " XD I know it's a stressful and maybe a little scary to think like that, but that worked for me. :3 I've calmed a bit down, thankfully, but I just wanted to show others. Thankies Foxi!

I was hoping it would be a bit insperational. I just have people come to me and say "wow, you're so good! I suck!" and honestly, I had to start somewhere too. :3 Thank you though! X3
