'The first wingbeat signals the start of lifeβs journey.'
Dragons are invariably shown as solitary and frequently engaged in combat, which is why I chose to paint a more intimate scne, but still one wrought with it's own drama and narratives.
The compositional structure is a strong triangular form, drawing the viewer to the parents head, accentuated by the positioning of the sun and rim light. Overlaid this is a sinuous 'S' which helps with creating energy and movement.

Those are some freakishly large "baby" dragons.

I like how you see the sillouetted spines through the back lit wing. The casual ripping off of the tower gives a subtle hint at the power of Momma. Great piece!

Now, that's a bug dragon! I like that, great job on all the different poses. Its neat to see dragons learning to fly!

I hope the castle is abandoned, I am not sure insurance would cover this... (And every castle was insured, correct?) Great painting.

Nice work! I think your unconventional dragon scenes are my favouite... I can just imagine the younglings acting up as Mom tries to organize a family portrait...

These dragons are much bigger than I thought! We're going to need more anti-air defences!! By all means, it's absolutely a fascinating, awe-inspiring artwork!
The dragons and the castle are beautiful, not to mention the sky! All in all, perfect!!
