here's my contest entry for Rittik-Designs ! contest can be found here !

i thought i would base my staff off of one of my oc's; i won't be saying much about her since she's kind of spoilery, but i'll provide some info about her:
⫸ she's very fond of fire and lava, unable to handle anything colder than the african desert (though it's still on the chilly side for her); swimming in a pool of lava for her feels like chilling in a warm pool on a hot day
⫸ she is the leader/ruler/'general' in a war, and she's very harsh and aggressive (she will kill a child if necessary)
⫸ here's a rough concept of her design [link] ; apologies that it's on a dress-up game instead of drawn by me, she's still in development and also one of those characters i can't draw right in my style

designing this staff was very tough for me, especially with the "thorns" on the top, but if the 'petals' on the base wasn't there i bet i wouldn't've thought of adding those too
despite my troubles i had designing, i love how this came out! the shading levels really bumped up ten levels while shading the obsidian "thorns" and "stones" near the "thorns"
i really tried to capture a volcanic feel with this, so you may see obsidian and volcanic rock in this, but i also added yooperlite and whatever this is for aesthetics; the world is in an alternate universe, so the rocks don't have to be volcanic here for them to be volcanic there

even if i don't win the contest (i have a feeling i won't, but that's probably just me trying to keep my hopes down in case i don't), i'm positive i will be using this staff (after some minor redesigning) in her story and use the theme to design her sword since i've been stuck on the design for a while
