How do you avoid creepers? And aren't they supposed to burn up when the sun comes up? When I go in my shelter and wait until morning they never burn up! Do trees have anything to do with it?

If you don't see a creeper coming, pretty much the only thing you can do is have really really good reaction time and try to get as far away as possible when you hear the "ptsssssssssssssssssssssss." It's possible to only take half damage that way, but I don't think I've ever avoided a surprise creeper entirely. Wearing armor doesn't hurt.

The only things that burn in sunlight are zombies, skeletons, and endermen. Creepers are completely unaffected by the sun. :/

okay thanks for the advice
and how come creepers aren't affected?! thats gonna be a pain to deal with... one time a creeper ran up to my house and stood right in front of the "window" hole and scared the crap out of me when i turned around XD THEY'RE EVERYWHERE.

No problem!

It's to make them creepier. So you can have one staring in at you for days on end, keeping you inside, fearful for your life, unable to sleep, until finally you decide to just tunnel out of your house and go into hiding, but as you come up out of the ground fifty meters away, you hear a distinct hissing and OH GOD IT'S RIGHT BEHIND ME RUN RUN RU boom. At least, that's my theory. Nothing like that's never actually happened to me, though. By noon I usually get fed up with doing nothing and charge bravely outside to face my fears and defeat the monster and wind up getting my face blown off.

wow I never even thought about trying to tunnel out of the house. Even though I'll still probably end up killing myself I'll try that too. I usually do what you said and charge out of my house and meet my death.

Dang those things are creepy.
(hence the name creeper )
