the fourth piece from the "A Storm in Heaven" series. it illustrates the second song off the record, Slide Away.

But, just for today,
Let go, slide away.

i'm actually quite satisfied with this work. this hasn't happened in some time. this song is very special to me. i wanted to somehow express letting go of logic. some of the things i hate about myself is that i think too much. i have trouble making decisions because i just plain think too much! i'm too afraid of making mistakes.

the symbolism: the brain-in-a-jar is, of course, a symbol of the mind, of logic; the layering of the furniture expresses the long, complex thinking process; the way she tries to reach for the jar symbolizes hesitation to decide; the bars suggest limitation.

i added a touch of space atmosphere to better fit the song. many thanks to this lovely band for the inspiration!
