Description Fallen comrade, vanquished foe.

While experimenting on new Photoshop techniques, I decided to put some of my more recently gained knowledge to use, and ended up turning what would have been scrap into a completed picture.

For the tree itself, I decided to do something I rarely do, and find a brush for it rather than draw it tediously. The figure and the grave were done by hand though.

The title is taken from Machinae Supremacy's song Redeemer (March of the Undead III), from their Redeemer album. Buy it, it's really damn good.

I like the sense of contrast in this: the presence of warm colors in a cold situation and atmosphere, the blurry edges that force focus on sharp details, and the bright sky that blends into the overall darkness. The picture is obvious yet vague at the same time. The clouds look very nice as well.

The ATMOSPHERE good GOD.

This is gorgeous. Oh man. The colors and the lighting really make this just seem to breathe. The silhouettes are a really nice touch, and the way the light fades out towards the sky is quite nice.

This actually looks like a cel out of an animation. It's quite beautiful. And for that an easy +fave.

I like the style on this one, especially how it gets out of focus around the edges. Detail on the grass looks quite nice as well ^^

Thank you. I think I got the perspective a little off on them, but it gives a bit of a surreal effect, at least.
