First view of my bowl... It's really hard to take pics of shiny glazed stuff. Anyway, this was origianally molded on a hump mold, but then I tried to square it off. I can't wait until we get to start using the wheel, then we can actually make things even! The glaze turned out pretty good I think, considering the green was supposed to be a deep red, but I think it must've reacted with the top color. Glazes- Caf'e (I think) and Lustre Bronze. very nice luster. i still haven't had the chance to use them since you need to fire only lusters together. molds are fun but i find the wheel most gratifying, where you can throw alot more than you can make molds. i would just like to warn you in advance that learning to throw takes alot of patience, emphasis on alot. it might take you a few sessions how to center then longer on how to bring up the wall. you should try reading up on all the techniques then trying them all out to see which one suits you best. good luck!

Thank you! And yes, I can see why using the wheel would be more satisfying in an end result.. even if it is hard to learn. I bet it's worth it! I think we're going to start using it next semester, which is coming up soon... thanks again for the advice.
