Description
Featured in Annissina's July Feature .Sorry for not submitting anything for a while! Here's another nebula.
An Apophysis 7x fractal. As with all my fractals, I highly recommend you zoom in for the best viewing experience.

Interesting spacescape! If you opted to use some type of swirl instead of diamond, I'd wonder if those stars would appear more like galaxies The top-right side of the image is very beautiful!

Thank you very much!
One of my weaknesses I'm starting to encounter in linear-based abstracts is a lack of ideas for these kinds of details...I keep opting for the same low-weight, low-value linear, blur, Gaussian blur, radial blur, or noise. Occasionally I'll attempt blurred eyefish or bubble, or epispiral-based circles (especially warped with post_curl). I need to find some new alternatives...do you have any recommendations on how to create those spirals?

There are numerous ways to create spiral shapes, though very specific universe-like shapes wouldn't be easy.
There are a couple of things you can look for - transforms offering circular motion, like foci, spherical, or curl (with variables!) scaled down pretty small and perhaps skewed significantly. Alternatively you could use a transform that has a low value of horseshoe (like 0.1 or 0.05 or something pretty small), which seems to have a reasonable effect in certain setups - but you may also need to move it around, rotate it, or skew it a bit to get the effect you want as well. I can't really say without manually being able to experiment with things, as fractals are pretty dynamic!
If you want to have some fun, substitute linear with curl -- curl acts as linear when all variables are set to 0, but introduces curves like spherical or foci once you start messing with them!
