Tradition, that rustic echo of folklore and whispers still linger about in the air of Jaipur. These invincible forts, still standing tall, still as beautiful as they were when kings and queens walked by through their gardens, remind us of the bygone golden era, and history that is etched in the memory of this city and its people.

This shot is reminiscent of that Rajasthani folk song recently composed by Amit Trivedi and performed on Coke Studio, called Chaudhary (a title given to a man from ethnic clans of Rajasthan). Here it refers to a woman donning vibrant yet simple colors, calling and searching for her beloved, Chaudhary, who’s apparently lost somewhere in the maze of these grand halls. It fits the mood of this photograph so perfectly, and reminds me of whale of the time I had with my friends two years ago at this very place. This was clicked at Amer Fort, Rajasthan, India.
