Description I dream in black and white..

[note: while I'm waiting for my camera to return, I've updated some of my older photos. I didnt much like the heavy grunge that I put on the first version of this photo. And I'm really into b/w photos these days. I've used a monochromatic channelmixer to convert to b/w, and burn/dodge tool to enhance contrasts. I hope you like it. I'll leave the old one in my gallery for a while incase you want to compare]

I followed your steps to find you and live at your sides, but a day the desert erased your steps...

The meaning of this shot is something special to me. I'm a great traveller, sometimes to loose myself, sometimes to get back some parts of me. Strangely I never was as only as in the middle of crowd.

When I get my site up and running, I'll look into other ways of selling prints.

beautiful, the greyscale implies black and white, no emothin but there clearly is emotion, its as if she's looking out over the dunes, deciding which path to take even while her tracks are being blown away; with us just catching a glimpse of her before she leaves on some unknown journey,
wonderful piece

Wow. The contrast, the texture, and the composition all fit like clockwork. The very most I'd do to this is maybe lighten up the foreground/bottom of the piece, but I was taught by an amazing photographer who preferred to have everything show rather than something fade out into black.

Besides that, don't you dare change a single aspect of the piece.

raun In reply to viruswithshoes [2003-11-09 11:29:33 +0000 UTC]

thanks for your comment and advice. I dont think I'll change it anymore. The dark forground is natural light/darkness. I only emphazised what was already there.

well some experts say people actually do dream in black and white, dunno, could be, I don't remember dreaming about colors

nice variation, has a nearly completey different feeling than the grunge version, somehow 'brighter', must've something to do with those enhanced contrasts

i really like this, but not as much as your previous submissions. it lacks the [intensity] of the mystical atmosphere that is so common in your work...
