Orphaned at a young age by a strange magical phenomenon and forced to live on the streets for fear of his connection to a violent blast, Karas has ever felt a pariah. The explosion left large gaps in his young memory, whether by the eldritch magic or the power of the blast none could say. But most didn't care to find out as he was looked upon with pity and dread at best and at worst, hunted....The ruling class in the city were quick to blame the burst on his parents and decreed that Karas' existence after it was clear proof that he to, was dangerous. Publicly branded as a menace, he was beaten and throw in the gutter where he was told to die or disappear. Not much survived the the sudden vortex that had engulfed Karas' home, but what was left was quickly being carted away by an angry and greedy crowd. The orphan was only able to get his hands on one book from his father's archives....the way of the Ninja. Clutching his prize, he ran into the night until his body gave out. When he awoke, he found himself in a macabre yet peaceful place, a cemetery. There were no people here to hurt him, no one to call him a demon, just silent stones. He dwelt here for most of his young life all the while studying that one link to his past. He would often return the city, in search of food and clothing. Sometimes he was caught and pummeled all over again. Other times he was lucky, kind citizens would give what they could spare or his theft would go unnoticed. But every day he was learning. Soon his skills grew so much that he was declared an outlaw and was tracked to his home. Among the graves he stalked and killed most of his aggressors earning him the title Tombguard and the everlasting ire of the city's ruling elite. A deadly game was set in motion that day as Karas actively began to fight back. And over the years he became skilled not only at hiding, but killing as well. His own war, it seemed, would last until he toppled those who had taken so much from him. But it was all for nought....After a decade of quiet, the phenomenon returned. Bursts and storms of magic rampaged through the town, killing dozens at each occurrence. Anarchy ruled as many fled the disaster, and Karas found himself in a role he didn't expect....that of a hero. His knowledge of the back streets and alleys helped guide many to safety. And even though he saved crowds of people, he kept going back into the maelstrom. He was forced to abandon this quest after the energies grew too intense, leaving the city in ruins. The dead that could be found were taken to his field of crypts and the long process of grief for the survivors begin. With scores of people now in his once peaceful place, he left them to their grim and broken lives. Now they could finally find a measure of understanding for the Tombguard among that land of grey stone. Unsure of what to do for the first time in his life, Karas despaired and wandered. He now sells his skills to those in need, a warrior of shadow for hire.

Helpful and kind, but ever wary of people whom he has a hard time trusting.
Likes to watch people rather than engage. Likes to be alone.
Prone to depression and melancholy thoughts. Own sense of right and wrong.
Calm most of the time, but when he shows emotions they are often intense.
Doesn't mind killing if he feels it's warranted, but hates cruelty.
Still hangs out in graveyards so many find him creepy. Can be quite deep.
Only time he really lets his guard down is when he reads, which he likes to do.
