Okay. uh... probabbly best to full-view this...(sorry)...So this is a character from Steve Uy's [link] new comic book called Jova's Harvest.
Check out his comics! The first issue should be in comic racks now..! His drawing style rocks!
So, uh, Steve is actually gonna include this pin-up in the third issue of Jova's Harvest.. So, please keep an eye on the comic book shelves for me.

really like this one. great character and movement. i think i really just like the way you stylize your figures. also, is this all done digitally? there's a really cool chalk pastel-ish texture to your work that i really like

This is acrylic with some micron line work.
Now that you mention it, this one did come out looking pastel-ish... (But, it is just dry brushed acrylic.)

Basia is the best with words isn't she?! Steve seemed to be happy with it! I can't wait to finish this other painting I'm working on. It has a huge vortex of water too! Actually, this fan art project stole my vortex of water idea. My other painting seems a bit lame now and needs something to liven it up. I seem to work much slower than anyone else on DA. I can't fathom how you post sooooo much! I aspire to post as often as you! Thank you for the lovely comment!

are just..well awesome!
i mean...that you all can catch the admospheres and the realms that are perfect for illustrations of this calibre...
i would love to compose in that way and to create such wonderful landscapes and escenery...
but i am not good with that...i will dare to use all of you girls and guys as inspiration to make art in that style
yes i wanna be illustrator... T_T but i just dont have the hability..que skills like you have to make such works like this..
and for that i admire you...not only for that but for the creativity and originality you are showing us in your deviations

I want to make a comic soooo bad.. Actually this is what I'm working on.. I want to make a mini comic about Medusa as a little girl and how she has no friends because she keeps turning them into statues. It gets more involved but that is the basic story.

I know..! He fucking rocks..! Dude he writes, pencils, inks, colors, and letters his own work..! You should check out "Feather" his first comic. It seems like a rather innocent sweet mini-series, but it is cleverly written, well drawn, and has good video game references.. !

This is acrylics and micron pen... maybe I should have scanned in my sketch and painted it digitally. I have trouble getting texture when painting in Photoshop, so, I was wary to go that route.

I think it looks great! I hear you on the texture thing...I find it easier to get textures in traditional art vs. digital.
So, did you paint this on canvas, illustration board or something (darnit, I'm so nosey!

funny thing..
picture this... my scanner is a 8.5 x 11 flatbed, with a plastic lip around the edge or the glass. the scanner only scans what is directly on the glass. this illustration is like 22 by 15 inches and everytime i tired to scan it, it would be out of focus because the illustration was 1/8 up from the glass, resting on the plastic lip. i had to strip the top layer and scan it like paper with a heavy book on top of the scanner to keep it down as much as possible....
