Description
Sometimes you get an idea and just have to paint it.If anyone knows anything bad about mixing tempura and acrylic.. I would be interested in that knowledge.
You would have my eternal appreciation.
Oh yea, this is painted on a pair of old jeans that I stretched and gessoed.

"Gesso" ['dŹÉsĖo] is the Italian word for "chalk" (akin to the Greek word "gypsum"), and is a powdered form of the mineral calcium carbonate used in art. Gesso was traditionally mixed with animal glue, usually rabbit-skin glue, to use as an absorbent primer coat for painting. Nowadays they have acrylic gesso.
Maybe gesso isn't a verb.. But I always seem to use it like one. I'm always gesso-ing my boards... or I gesso-ed this canvas.. Or... I need to gesso a bunch of stuff tonight. Hmm.....

Santa : So, what it the popular item I'm giving out to the good little children of the world this year, research department elf? Cabbage patch kids, emlo dolls, those doodle bears that amazon.com is back ordered on?
Research Depatment Elf : Appears to be a species of mollucks in formaldehyde, sir.
Santa : Ho ho ho. You are such a comical elf, no, really what is it?
Research Depatment Elf : A carnivorous marine mollusk with a rounded soft body, eight tentacles with each bearing two rows of suckers, a large distinct head, and a strong beaklike mouth supended in a colorless gaseous compound, HCHO, the simplest aldehyde, used for embalming fluids, preservative and disinfectant, sir. Don't drop any in the sleigh, sir, they smell terrible.

This one is so fun I had to add it to my favorites list. I love that you used a lot of very bold colors yet they are still balanced and controlled.
