Description This was a request, someone asked me to draw a superstition. I like how superstition and suspicion look and sound allot alike.
If you are reading this, I love you. Plain and simple.
You guys who watch me as I fumble and bumble through paintings and making artstuffs... You are the best.
I don't know what I would do without you guys.
Probably get out of the house more, enjoy the sunlight, maybe exercise.

Ahhhh. Let me explain this silly little painting. As some of you guys know, I work in art restoration. It isn’t glamorous, but I love it. I go to work, look at beautiful old paintings (most with big holes in them) and come home dissatisfied that I don't paint enough of the good stuff. The good stuff being big marine paintings, reclining buxom nudes with draperies, landscapes with horses, and anything else that doesn't look like a box of melted crayons... reminds me of what I don't paint... Yesterday, I couldn't shake the thought that I hadn't painted a figure in gawd-knows how long, so here one is.

I'm working through requests right now, have been since the beginning of may. Two graduation presents, and one random request down... (I created a request form on my website and I wasn't going to announce this on DA.. but... it is there if you want to do some treasure hunting..).

If you requested something (which may be one of two people who could be reading this), and wonder why I keep posting other stuff.... I love you very dearly. I’m just a tad slow.

Wow.

Reminds me of my cat and the song by Stevie Wonder.

excelent work - the color and texture gives a great felling, somewhat surreal maybe, dunno ~me blabing~ .. ur very lucky to be surrounded by artwork all day in such a manner that it sturrs in your head to create such pretty work..
I'm glad I watch you

Awww.. thanks. It makes me happy that you like my work and please babble as much as you like. It is always a good read. ^_^ I love hearing from you. About being surrounded by artwork, I can't agree with you more. Being happy is the only thing I treasure. Being happy is what we should strive for, I think. Stumbling upon this job was a miracle. I never thought I would get so lucky. My friends think me a tad crazy for working such long hours and never seeing the light of day.. But I get something out of this that is uniquely satisfying for me. I love fine art and being able to touch it is something I've always wanted. They never let get close enough to really enjoy and inspect a painting in a musuem. The alarms go off if you get close enough to breathe on it. AHh, musuems and gallerys put art up on a high pedastal and it makes it hard to just see a painting for what it is... someone just like us who took the time to apply paint to some canvas. Ah, I love paintings.

yes I agree - I'm always tempted to get as close as possible to paintings to really see the brushstrokes/paint daubs in the works...
ever hear of art for the blind? - [link] this you can touch, kinda of tactile art of sorts
