So.Here is the cd cover for this local band (the indefinite article) that I'm working on.
The lion and pedestal will be on the cd front and ring master and audience would wrap around and show when one opens the jewel case..
Any suggestions....? You guys are the best! Thanks in advance!!!!! I'll most probably scrap this soon.

very cool! and i cant believe this is acrylic, you had me fooled for pencil crayonds and polish varnish maybe? but still good job, acrylics can be such a bitch to work on especially something like this which has the lineart in it.
still really cool colour scheme, the purple really work as a whole illustration, as for a wrap around, i dont know how well the back cover will stand alone as a single illustration, but either way its a great image. maybe it would work alot greater as a poster! it would be great to print some out to promote the band (and yourself!)
although i have no idea what kinda music they play, i love your concept and the crowd really stands out with the lineart style you've chosen. maybe the ring master can be a lighter purple (if you dont want to veer away from the colour scheme) cause i just think hell get lost when you fold it in half.
*sigh i talk too much.....

I was really happy with the color scheme. The cd cover is purple, the cd face is lime green, the back is bright blue, and the inside tray is bright orange. I'm super happy that I could to work with bright colors! The ring master is actually on the inside of the jewel case, so it really messes with ones sense of perspective and the columns are a great directional line right to the Cd face. But your right! The ringmaster illo isn't fully successful on its own. (It looks much better with text on it.) If your interested in hip-hop music, you are more than welcome to listen to their music at their MySpace account, [link] . (They are revamping their main website [link] right now and I don't know how long it will be down.)
Thanks for the suggestions! (Unfortunately it already went to print.) I really hope they end up making a poster out of it! I'll even take the stack of posters and plastering where ever they are playing with my art every time they have a show!

It is for a band. I don't feel connected to this piece and I don't think it represents my artwork. I'm just fishing for hardcore feedback so the band isn't disappointed in the final product.

This is acrylic and (cough) took way too long. I easily could have put 20+ hours into it over the past week. That is a shameless and embarrassing amount of time. But, I've been working on it for a few nights now and sections of it had no interest in becoming resolved. I had to call it quits around midnight last night. After a round of good critiques from my buddies here, I hope to photoshop it to an acceptable level of completion.
