Mup! Needed to edit this, since I deleted the original. (I posted this pencil once, got mad at it and tore into it again, then had both versions up for a little bit so's anyone that was terribly and awfully curious could see that changes I'd made.)If it interests you to know, the full title - Softest bullet ever shot - is burgled from a Flaming Lips song. If you're familiar with the song; you might think it an odd choice, it's not a love song per se, but that's how it strikes me when I read into a little. By the same token, Balthier and Fran aren't obviously anything.. but on closer inspection, I'm struck by how much they really are. It's fascinating, and delicious to draw. Lovely combo!

This probably says more about my mental state than yours; to my eyes the differences are glaring, but I'm also notoriously picky. Fran's face was reshaped, ditto for her hair; she just looked *odd* to me! I poured a lot of detail into Balthier's hair, it's such an essential part of his visual character in my eyes.
But, eh, anyway... I am bad about overanalysing.
