Description
Okay, this image and myself have a long history together stretching back to October of 2000 when I first attempted it.This print has been created in the style pioneered by the late M.C. Escher [link] specifically I took my inspiration from his wood engraving entitled Another World II [link]
It was created using Bryce4 for the construction of the room, fixtures, and terrain while Poser4 supplied the cats.
Photoshop6 was used to insert the starscape, moon and for the typical post-production cleanup and airbrushing.

Overall, this is a great piece. It's like a modern Escher. My only crit is that when my eye travels to the bottom of the picture, i feel cut off. I think it's that the bottom of the sill almost touches the edge of the picture. maybe you could zoom out or skew the camera angle a bit.

I'm really impressed with the overall package...I think the hues you chose stood out first...but they wouldn't have so well if the textures where any different.
Very beautiful...Escher would be proud!

CC- I think you should have adjusted the Lense FOV so everything isnt so streched.

Actually that's not from the camera lens- it needed to be modeled tall to fill the poster resolution properly.

WOW, that is simply amazing! I haven't seen any 'f with your head' art like this since the end of 2001: A Space Odessey! Really makes you set and think as you admire it! Killer job, rock on!

Before my minor quibbles, let me say I love this!
The vanishing off the bottom works, but the top looks frankly incomplete.
I'm confused by the choice of two moons. Seems to me if there are two of them, they should evoke reflections of one another. Which kind of opens up a radical potential new dimension to this, adding reflective qualities to the open spaces... HMMMM...
But these quibbles are so, SO picky... this is of course wonderful. I didn't think it would be possible to pull off Escher-illusions with the "real world" lighting of 3D rendering apps, but somehow you have. And I'm looking at your lighting here and cannot at all wrap my head around how you've done it. (I'm no good with modeling/rendering, but I've at least done it enough to know an exceptional magic trick when I see one!)
The overall composition is excellent, the cats don't suggest "rendered" much at all, but most of all kudos to making this so incredibly attractive though such liberal use of featureless planes. Their "creamy goodness" is the unsung charistmatic foundation that really SELLS this fabulous eye candy, rather than merely present it to us.
Everywhere I look, I see restraints as important as the details - it's just really an impressive homage by every standard.

I love the way the eye wanders from one area to another in a pattern like flow. Even if you start over, your eye follows the same path as before, and if you try to change it, you get lost and end up starting over anyway. I'm greatly impressed. It may be my browser, but it seems like the cat is hard to pick out from the background, also making it difficult to fully appreciate the sky. I have a suspicion it's me though. If it is, just ignore me

Don't you just love this piece? Hehe. It's sitting right next to my computer desk. I get to look at it everyday up close and personal. HEHE.
(just had to instill some jealousy) I sit in awe of his work everyday. You should see the stuff he throws out because he thinks it's crap.
