In the town of Blue Valley, Nebraska, we follow high school student Courtney Whitmore and her friends Mary Kramer and Josh Hamman. It was a seemingly normal day at the school, save for a new student’s arrival at the school, one Cameron Mahket. Cameron and his widower father Jordan were from Greenland, and Cameron could speak English, but barely. Courtney, feeling bad for Cameron for getting bullied for his poor grasp on English, talked to him and agreed to tutor him in English after school hours. After school that day, when Courtney got home, she got a call on her cell phone. It was her step-grandfather Patrick Dugan, asking if everything was okay at the house. She confirmed that things were ok, and asked why? We turn to Patrick, in his super-powered battle armor STRIPE, battling a superhuman criminal. The super-criminal, wielding ice-generation powers, did not speak as he attacked the bank he was robbing and battled STRIPE. Courtney heard the battle over her phone and hurried to change into her superhero persona Stargirl. But just when it seemed Patrick was about to be stabbed through the chest while being frozen to the ground, an arrow was loosed and its explosive tip blasted the ice STRIPE was trapped in and knocked away the super-criminal. It was Green Arrow, a member of the Justice League, coming to STRIPE’s aide just as Stargirl arrived. The criminal, outnumbered 3-1, generated a huge wall of ice to successfully block the heroes while he made his escape. That night, Courtney was tutoring Cameron in English when she was called away to her parents’ laboratory in their home, where Stargirl keeps her gravity weapon and Patrick’s STRIPE armor. Patrick was there, and so was Green Arrow, aka Oliver Queen. On the communication monitor in the lab was Oliver’s tech expert Felicity Smoak, aka Overwatch. They filled Courtney in on the ice-powered criminal that attacked the bank, the one that the news is calling “Icicle”. Oliver and Felicity pulled up data on CADMUS (a now-defunct governmental organization) and their experiments that created 50 metahumans of various ages, races, and genders. However, this file they pulled up on one of the earlier experiments, which resulted in the cryo-kinetic metahuman we know as Icicle, is corrupted and will take a while for Overwatch to decrypt and clean up. In the meantime, Green Arrow will stick around Blue Valley and keep his eyes open for Icicle, and suggested Patrick and Courtney do the same. A few days later, Cameron brought Courtney over to his house as his father Jordan was leaving for the night for the night-shift of his new job. She was tutoring him on English, but they soon enough were making out, and Cameron had an idea. He brought her out to the backyard, and his skin began turning pale! He projected an ice beam from his hands and turned the backyard into a wintery landscape. Courtney was terrified on the inside, realizing that Cameron is Icicle, but she hid it and pretended she was amazed by Cameron’s ability. After this, Courtney left for her home. The next morning, Cameron was in bed, and his father had yet to return home from his night shift. Just then, the front door was busted down by both police and agents of The DEO (CADMUS’s replacement organization). Cameron was arrested, forcefully outfitted with a metagene retention collar, and was dragged to the squad car to be transported to jail. Cameron saw Courtney and her step-grandfather Patrick there and he pleaded to her. Courtney told him that he’s Icicle, the super-criminal that attacked about a week ago, but he has no idea what she’s talking about. And with that, Cameron was hauled off to jail to await trial. However, while Green Arrow was observing the police car holding Cameron and driving to jail… he saw a second Icicle attack the police car! GA battled this Icicle while Cameron watched from the car, but the ice-powered criminal won out and froze GA solid before rescuing Cameron and getting out of there. Oliver Queen awoke in the Whitmore home’s lab, looked over by Courtney and her parents Dr. Sam Whitmore and his wife Barbara (that latter of whom is Patrick Dugan’s stepdaughter). They managed to unfreeze Oliver in time before he died. Oliver thanked them as Overwatch came on the screen. She revealed that she decrypted the CADMUS file on Icicle, and it revealed that he’s much older than Cameron, who is only 17. Courtney, Patrick, and Oliver realized that Jordan Mahket is Icicle, not his son. As their superhero personas, they traveled across the city to find where they could be, and the STRIPE armor’s thermal sensors picked up a trail of cold leading to an old warehouse. Courtney snuck in first and saw Jordan and Cameron arguing in their language. She didn’t understand, but could guess it was Jordan admonishing his son about displaying his power in front of another person when they’re supposed to be hidden. Stargirl dropped from the ceiling and called out Jordan, saying he’s under arrest. Jordan, as Icicle, battled Stargirl as Cameron watched from the side and as STRIPE and Green Arrow arrived. Soon enough, Icicle was defeated and forcefully outfitted with a similar collar as Cameron was affixed with, courtesy of Green Arrow. However, Stargirl went up to Cameron and took off her mask, revealing herself as Courtney to him. She apologized for what happened, and hope he won’t face consequences for his father’s actions. In the end, Cameron was given leniency by the courts for being mistaken for his father, while Jordan was sent to prison. Cameron soon enough forgave Courtney for calling the cops on him and they’re now in a relationship. However, about a day later, Courtney and Patrick met a man named Johnathan Diggle, who had an offer for them…
