Complimenti.

Before we start, I would just like to say that I really love your works.

What first drew my eye to this work was the eye - it seems to be nestled in the warped face yet it jumps out at the same time, deceptively honest. The upward curve of the mouth expresses the same notion, joking and light-hearted although juxtaposed to the twisted right side. The way that these fronts of normality are completely overthrown by the metaphor of the blatantly obvious disfigurement is amazing. I feel like something extra could have been done with the angle or perspective to further push the image, but it's wonderful as it is as well. So, four and a half stars for vision.

The concept is fairly original, as is the way that you portrayed it. The star lost from originality is simply because it is very grounded in your style and the type of work that you do, which is wonderful and I am unjustly holding back because I require something particularly special to hand it over.

Right. I won't take too much time for technique - it's flawless, the gritty hatching and curved lines are executed with honed skill. The composition is pretty standard, but it doesn't detract from the drawing.

Initially it is the visual aspects that drew me in, but the underlying concept gave this drawing weight. All in all it's an amazing work, as always!

When the cosmos is so vast, so busy and so alive with so many millions of stars and worlds in endless furious life and death cycles, why would existence not be filled with many dimensions and why would life not be a substance that imbues all carriers that seed every conceivable destination? Why would "death" not simply be a passing from one to another of these many cells in that enormity that gives birth to itself as many times as it dies? I'm going to stay with my suspicion that nothing so complex would be possible or necessary if it were meaningless and finite. I suspect that beyond our very limited vision of what might be lies the enormity of what is. Gazing at it, as the eye is doing in your image, can create a kind of terror where death and an end might seem preferable. Some would rather that they end than that they look out and see themselves reflected in the stars, or see the road open out after death into the unknown gardens of infinity.

yes, yes, yes...but this is a hope ... not a proof.
I am my consciousness, but you believe that it can survive and go around the space? It would also be a bit boring !

But who knows, we all hope so.

But I want - again - a proof !!! I'd be happy even seeing a ghost !

GersifGalsana In reply to RedTweny [2014-01-27 10:17:24 +0000 UTC]

It is only boring if there is a heaven of eternal rest where ego maniacs can sit at their god's feet and be praised and rewarded for doing next to nothing on earth but be obedient to the dictates of some ancient text invented by humans to keep other humans under control. If it is a natural process because the soul is a natural but invisible (to us) substance that is the companion of life forms then it will be a continuation of a journey. Ghosts do not appear to us because they are of an invisible substance. (This is my theory, lol.) But often we see strange others in dreams and in near death experiences. As soon as we wake up or return to this plane, these are no longer visible or communicable. Which is good or we would all be frightened to death every five minutes. Dimensions, if they existed, would not be able to communicate with other dimensions unless science had become so advanced these dimensions had become known and understood and a means of communication could be established. This would only be possible if we could find out firstly whether they exist and secondly how they exist if they do. We at the moment are sadly ignorant in both directions. We simply do not know anything beyond what we can imagine so our egos and our personal needs take the imagination by the hand and concoct all manner of ridiculous scenarios to fill the knowledge gap. Fortunately some of us are sane enough to call this "art" and "fiction". If it has become religious then it unfortunately goes by the tag of "truth". A human failing it is to believe our own desires and wishes to control the uncontrollable and to explain what is not actually known.

It can be very useful, though, to intelligently use art and fiction for "what-if" scenarios. Provided we don't give in to the temptation to call them religions and then oppress humanity with fictions.
