Description
The Commander is a good support character, but he doesn't have many feats involving weapon usage. There's one of two ways I'd recommend playing Commander: One, if you decide to run a wartime campaign where you have a lot of NPC allies to direct. If that's the case you could have the whole party feasibly play commanders.The other way would be to take the multi-class skill and take his skills as a later addition.

So basically, them should probably finagle a way to allow the commander to call in air strikes into the campaign.

A good way would be if you have an NPC who operates your group's ship. My group has some backing from the UGF, so that would provide an idea, if we actually had a commander.
Also, if you were doing a war campaign where you took part in big battles, air-strike support would be more likely.
