The prompt:

It's night, you have just awoken to see your door ajar. You see your girlfriend at the edge of your bed mid transformation. Empty syringes scattered at you're feet. She has a cocky smile.

The goal of this was to do some leisurely testing with what could be done purely in Daz without any addons. The scene consists of pretty much just Spotlights. I avoided using a Dome so the lights wouldn't be washed out and I feel that I managed to nail the 'mood' I was going for. That said there are some serious quality issues, like the syringes being not really being visible and my shadows being overall, totally insane.

It's a real struggle to do basic tasks in Daz. Yes I could always use an interactive render region in or a separate render plugin like Octane, but why? Blender has all that under the hood and more for free. So you say, 'Why didn't you just do that?'

Well the reason is really threefold. One, getting all my Blender keybindings sorted took a lot of energy and time (which shouldn't be surprising to anyone who has made the switch from Maya, Zbrush, C4D etc.). Two, the Daz >> Blender Bridge has been giving me some issues, I'm sure its just me making an error, but it hasn't exactly been as smooth as Daz advertised. Three, lots of stress. Work obligations have me learning a skillset I don't need in a software I dont prefer anymore. I'm also having to manage the expectations of non-technical, non-artistic people, all the while the company is hemorrhaging staff.

That said the Blender stuff is pretty much done, and work is just work. After this who knows? Maybe I'll even make a Twitter like you guys have been asking.
