I've had some sketches of balloon power-up concepts a while back. As they're conceptual, they may not be all thought out thoroughly, including the names.- Super Power Balloon: Grants the P-Balloon Suit. A skintight suit that covers just the torso, letter P on the front, suit color varies by character. Gives the ability to activate Balloon form anytime.
- Super Balloon: Indefinite Balloon form, instead of a time limit like the standard Power Balloon. Lasts until hit.
- ! Balloon: Inflates other people near the user.
- Power Water Balloon: Fills the user with water to become the Water Balloon form. Low jump which tremors the ground and can roll over enemies.
- Power Balloon Bundle: Inflate twice as big? (Unsure for this one. Maybe could be split to give one to a second player.)
- Heart Power Balloon: Inflates the breasts. (Alternatively, could also instead just not have the P and be called the Heart Balloon, to give it more its own identity.)
- Buddy Balloon: Inflates the character pictured.
- Peach Power Balloon: Inflates the butt. (Like the Heart Balloon, could just remove the P and call it the Peach Balloon. Not to be confused with Balloon Peach!)
- Note Balloon: Bouncy Balloon form. Like the usual Balloon form, but become bouncy instead of floaty, can also bounce extra high. Think the mechanics of the Note Block.
- Super Note Balloon: High bounce is extra high? (Super Note Blocks take you to a Coin Heaven or other such bonus areas, so hard to say how this could be similar enough but not just do the same thing.)
- POW Balloon: Inflates muscles. Blue color is standard but comes in other colors with no real difference in effect, like the original POW Blocks. (This one was recently more fleshed out!)
- Hot Air Power Balloon: (Or maybe Power Hot Air Balloon?? Unsure of the mechanics on this one. I usually just go with "the bigger the Power Balloon, the bigger the inflation". Maybe fire is involved somehow.)
Other ones not pictured have already been featured in some of my animations, like the ? Balloon, which gives a random effect.

I kinda like the concept of the Super Balloon and the P-Balloon Bundle. I also had some concepts of my own...
Power Blimp: Inflates the user to blimp size.
Homing Power Balloon: Targets a nearby user and inflates them for a short time.
Riceball Balloon: Fattens the user to sumo size. Low jump which shakes the ground, reduced mobility, and increased resistance, similar to the Cakes/Donuts/Apples from the Wario Land series.
Power Blueberry: Fills the user with blueberry juice to become the Blueberry form. Abilities the same as the Power Water Balloon, and are indefinite until the user is taken to a juicing room.
Power Orange Balloon: Inflates the belly. (Could remove the P and call it the Orange Balloon.)
You could also use one of TimeLordParadox's P-Flower idea from Episodes 11 and 12 of his series, Mario & Luigi: The Mask, which is a flower that inflates the user until he or she lets out the biggest sneeze of their life.

So, is that the color orange, or the fruit orange? What's the association with the belly?
Incidentally, I (or a friend rather) have something similar to the riceball one, but that's more of a complete sumo theme, rather than just size. I'm sure you've seen those, but I hadn't drawn the actual balloon itself. Simply called the Sumo Balloon.
And actually the Power Flower is a real power-up, from Super Mario 64 DS. It has different effects for different characters. (Mario's the one who inflates among them.)

The fruit is orange. The association is the fact that there's a type of orange called a navel orange (in which part of it resembles a bellybutton).

Well, TimeLordParadox's interpretation of the Power Flower (not to mention design) differs drastically from the one in SM64DS.

I have done water inflation before, but not with the balloon yet.
For the hot air balloon, still not sure on the details, but if I tried anything, I might be able to figure it out.

I guess one concept could be as big as a hot air balloon, and also Fire Flower power, because of the heat and all. I dunno, best I got there.

oh, how about as big as a hot air balloon, carrying a clown car for others to ride, and then also some fire flower stuff

Like a Koopa Clown Car? I figured since the balloon already comes with a basket, it'd just use that, especially since the Clown Car can fly on its own anyway.

Then the user just has the basket magically attach.
And they also gain the Fire power. So for example, Peach would look like this, but also inflated as big as the balloon.

Maybe the double P-Balloon is kinda like the double cherry. It spawns a balloon clone of you that floats near you.

I dunno, seems specific. At that point, might as well use a Double Cherry and then a P-Balloon right after. Maybe that could be a different item, like a Double Cherry Balloon. So it's a balloon...shaped like the Double Cherry.
Maybe it can be like "storage". Use one P-Balloon and hold onto the rest (a bundle could probably have variations with more than 2 balloons), then if you deflate, use the next.
