Description
>:INot getting something right is like my biggest pet peeve
Trying to focus on the wings and I mess up the head and tail motion,, I do know that to avoid all that frustration I should just stick with the basics and practice all these small bits one by one,, but I also know that I've usually improved the fastest when challenging myself with bigger projects
Tho I also still believe, that in the long-run, quantity over quality will help improvement just as well
....
to heck with it, as long as you do -something- it's gonna be fine
just gotta be patient

For this one I probably still used FireAlpaca, but currently I'm using Krita (unlike FA, it separates layers and frames in their own categories + it has a timeline)
Both are free programs!

Thanks for responding! I really want to get into animation, but cannot find a good software to use.

I recommend checking out this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpN5QDβ¦
I started with firealpaca, and it was great to simply figure out basic frame by frame animation, without having to worry about figuring out timelines etc

I really love the way the wings stretch and flex, and the way the feathers extend.

It looks like after the first bound it should land again to get to the edge of the cliff, so the angle of it's chest makes the wings line up for pushing the air under it more efficiently...
Maybe look at those videos of competitive "dock jumping"
Good luck with your animation experiments, these are awesome to see. You're making a lot of progress with each oneΒ

I think maybe since the dragon is heavier, try adding a few more frames on the parts where his wings push him up, so that the strength and the mass of the dragon is shown.

I think that because of the size a dragon usually is, it would be quite heavy, and so would need more of a run up before taking off. Nevertheless, this is still a very good attempt at animating a flying creature. ^-^
