Poor poor little Asdis. She is one of the many OC's I have beaten to a bloody pulp with the tragedy stick!

She and her brother were the only survivors of twelve siblings - although neither one realizes the other exists. Their parent's union was not sanctioned, and the elders of the colony did everything in their power to destroy the delinquent lovers and their love children.

Asdis' egg was not among the others when they came to destroy the clutch. She and several others had been moved, in an effort by the parents to save at least some of their children. She was found weeks later by a small boy from a neighboring human village. He thought he had found an alligator egg and took it home post haste. Must to his surprise a baby gorgon hatched, not a 'gater, and the terrified parents quickly chased her away.

Despite her continued attempts to return to the boy (who, at the time, she thought was her mommy) eventually she had to leave the area lest the angry villagers make good on their threats to kill her. After that she moved from village to village, town to town and so on, trying to find acceptance in human society.

As a drifter she took to tinkering with old things that people threw out. Eventually she would become something of a savant when it came to inventing things. (which is why she has a bag full of random stuff. That's her latest haul of potential doo-dads).

Anyway, I hope all that made sense. I'm a little tired and its quite possible I'm writing gibberish right now.

This is one of the first images I colored for realz. It was for a school project. I hadn't really learned how to blackline so this image was inked via the "live trace" option in Illustrator. Something I will never do again! But, I digress, that's why her line quality is rather... choppy. This particular image has been sitting in my folder for quite some time. I had grand plans for a art nouveau-ish frame...but I finally realized I can't do those. Ha! So this is what you get.
