I trace my finger down the steely blade,Searing it
With my own blood.
It is not dull yet:
It has barely even begun
To be used.
Is it wrong to be this
Obsessed
With a meat cleaver?
My reflection sneers back at me
In the silver perfection
As I contemplate
What I'm doing.
The grip feels made for my hand;
It shouldn't feel this
Good
To balance a blade in my fingers.
I jump at the chance
When I hear another sound outside my door.
The dogs are anxious behind me:
Perhaps they understand
How psychotic
I really am.
Silently, I slide over to the peephole
Staring out with a thirst
To see the insidious bleed.
Just as quietly,
I resume my position
At an
Advantageous
Angle.
I turn the blade in my hands
Preparing
For the strike.
A door opens beside me
And out saunters my mother,
Giving me the strangest of looks.
"What are you doing?" is her simple question,
And I have no answer but, "The dogs heard a sound."
Her eyes are immediately drawn to the meat cleaver in my hand.
My explanation turns out to be, "That sicko is going to get what's coming to him."
She laughs it off
And nonchalantly tells me to
Put the blade away before I hurt myself.
Little does she know how
Perfect
It felt to finally be
Ready to lodge it in his
Malicious brain.

It kind of freaked me out though how I was so ready to drive that meat cleaver into his skull. The cleaver felt awesome in my hands, though. I really am a psycho...
