Description
I recently got Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall on my computer. Took a bit of doing to get it running but once I did I loved it. Forgot how much I loved playing with DOS.Anyway, this is my first character. Named after Resulli (I pretty much name all my game characters after him lol)

Daggerfall's definitely one of my favorite games. It's old, but I like the storyline and gameplay.

I couldn't bring myself to play it for more than an hour. It's too oldschool for my liking.

Well, fair enough. Everyone has different tastes. Was it the mazey dungeons?

It was a combination of the fact that I wasn't in the mood for it and the keyboard experience. I've never liked playing on keyboard but old games were the worst about terrible keyboard setups.

lol I understand. The controls bugged me at first, but I did get used to them with time. Of course PC games are the only games I can play (I don't have an xbox or a ps4), so I'm used to using the keyboard.

I've been a console gamer my whole life. Using a controller is hardwired into me at this point.
I just got a PS4, actually. So many games are coming out for it in the next year.

I'm playing Daggerfall right now. The controls were never a problem for me. The big ass dungeons were. I got used to them though.

I have a general problem with using the keyboard to play games. I've played consoles for so long that playing on anything but a controller just confuses the hell out of my hands rendering the game unplayable to me if it's complicated enough. I had the same problem with the original Thief.

I had to seriously reconfigure the controls to make even an iota of sense.

I just neeed to learn more about them. And once that's done, find the games themselves, if I'm interested, of course.

They are RPGs. Obviously.
More open world than games like FF though. I dunno about the earlier games but Oblivion has a system that points you in the direction you need to go so it's not like you have to find your way randomly.
Plus there's fast travel which makes it easy to get to places instead of spending an hour walking across the world. xD

I see... That helps a little.
I'll go to Wikipedia or GFAQS and see if I can get any more info.

They are the types of games that don't have a focused story. Basically you can go off and do whatever you want whenever you want and don't even have to do the main story for hours upon hours upon hours if you don't want to.
Of course there's many sidequests to occupy your time. ^_^
Most of the time seems to be focused around sidequests rather than the main quest.

Hm. I'll see if I can find Numbah 3 somewhere.
Wait a second... THAT DAMN CLONE! *opens claws and starts shooting missiles at that damn clone* (Reference to an old webcomic series. XD!)

Morrowind? It's on PC and Xbox.
Oblivion is on PS3, 360 and PC.
Skyrim (the new one that's coming out) will be the same as Oblivion.
