Hi there, well, I couldn't resist and I drew another picture of my older fanfiction story "Shadows of a lie". For someone who don't know the story, here a little summary: Rango was kidnapped by the Jenkins Cousins and they torture him because they believe Rango killed their relatives. After many days of punishment, Rango is more dead than alive, Jake kills the Jenkins Cousins and takes Rango away into an old human house. He brings a doctor, a young rabbit with name Tibbar, who treat his injuries. After that Rango has from time to time bad dreams and suffers from his trauma. It's not easy for Jake to calm him down…

"In the middle of the night Jake was awakened by a wail. Rango seemed to have nightmares. Restlessly, the chameleon tossed and turned. Jake leaned over and put a part of his body over him. When Rango felt his weight, he wailed briefly. Then the shaking slowed and he fell asleep again.
After a while, Jake pulled his body away from Rango and lay down again. But after half an hour, Rango started to moan again. This time a bit louder. Suddenly he jumped up and ran away staggering. He crashed into Jake's body and toppled over. Jake turned his body into a wave and blocked the chameleon's escape route. But then, unexpectedly, Rango leapt forward and climbed over his body with a force that Jake would never have expected, and fled to a corner of the room. Panicking, he scanned the wall in search of an escape route.
Slowly, Jake crept toward the frightened chameleon. When Rango saw Jake's shadow coming closer, he sank trembling to his knees and pressed himself closer to the wall.
"No! No! "He shouted, crouched on the ground like a hunted animal, wringing his head in agony, his trembling getting stronger, Jake could not say if he was shaking with pain or fear, maybe both.
Slowly he bent down to him and spoke calmly to him.
"Calm down. Calm down."
Rango had closed his eyes and crouched in the corner, like a child who feared beatings every moment.
Cautiously, Jake pushed the chameleon out of the corner with its prehensile tail and placed it in its slings. Rango did not dare to move. He was still in shock. Then he sank lamenting on the floor. Jake pushed his cannon forward and raised Rango's torso. But no sooner had he set up Rango, Rango began to beat like crazy.
"NO! Stop! Let me!"
Jake reacted quickly and pulled his body around him. Rango screamed and tried to free himself from his grip. Jake shook him. "Wake up!"
Rango suddenly stopped moving.
Did he recognize Jake? At first he lay stock-still in Jake's grip. Then he began to sob.
Jake loosened his grip and let Rango slide back to the floor. Rango dropped to his knees and hid his face in his hands. Then he hugged himself as if he were freezing. He gasped and trembled uninterruptedly.
Jake leaned down to him. "Boy, calm down. Everything is alright. I'm not gonna hurt you. "
