No one can deny that during Christmastime there is a certain atmosphere of cheerfulness. Though the air may be colder, smiles are warmer and hearts are lighter. This phenomenon is all thanks to the Christmas Spirit. A fairy of dazzling beauty and clad in red and green, she rivals even St. Nicholas himself in her jolliness. She embodies that which is earthly Christmas, from the togetherness of family to the tradition of gift giving. In her invisible form, she drives out old sorrow from hearts of men and fills them instead with a hope and good nature. So the next time you feel the joy of the holiday season, whether it be while you sing a carol or place a present under the tree, remember the Christmas Spirit, for it is she who helps make your holiday bright.
