OK! I had to take a break from making "I Dream In Retro 2" because I saw a video on Youtube that I just HAD to make a response video to. For your viewing pleasure I present "I Reply In Retro - Awesome Video Games". I discovered Ace and Chet of "Awesome Video Games" through some other game reviewers I watch on Youtube. They have some of the most bizarre and awesome retro game reviews/skits I have seen. I really suggest you check them out.
In fact you should really watch THIS video before you watch my response. It will make more sense if you do. My response if kind of a "what if" scenario of what might happen in my retro dream world while Ace is out cold.
As always I have uploaded this to Youtube as well if you prefer to watch it there.

I don't get tired of your animation. The frame rate is pretty similar, I just can't wait to see the funky colors out of your video. Need to place the cartridge the right way, I guess.

Well, you see, on the NES console when the cartridge was either not well placed or dirty, the game could have some weird shapes/colors. I remember that Mario Bros 3 had a bright pink line on the starting menu when the cartridge was incorrectly inserted. That's the kind of funky colors I am talking about. I'm still trying to find a picture that shows it.

Great. I love the sounds. I am also doing some sound editting and recording. How do you produce your low bit sounds?

All the sounds for my sprite animations are taken by recording directly from the games. Usually by going to the games sound test mode if it has one. If not i have to mute sound channels in the emulator to single out what it is I want to record. This way I get the sound exactly.

I know, Bonk was pretty much PC Engine's mascot. We don't know him very well here because unfortunately the Turbografx 16 did not sell well at all here. Over in Japan however, that system actually outsold the Genesis, and had a CD addon which, unlike Sega CD, was actually very popular and had a lot of great games for it.

I've always wanted a PCE/TG or TurboDuo. Back in the day my friends had one so I never picked one up. I was the Nintendo kid, my other friend had genesis and the other had TurboGrafx. I'm slowly building my collection and I'm aiming to get that system in there eventually.

Turbo Duo is expensive as hell but well worth it in my opinion. I happen to own a Duo with a converter for playing Japanese games (which can go from 150+ dollars) and I have to say it's by far one of my favorite systems. I think I wrote a top ten console list and Turbo Duo was high up on the list.

You kinda got the scoring wrong - you get 100 points for countering to get a star, 500 for hitting your foe with a Star Uppercut, and 1000 points for knocking out Von Kaiser.

yeah I know. I was in such a hurry I didn't want to get to crazy with it. It bugs the hell out of me though.
The video I was originally going to make this as a reply to got a follow up before I was done. So I wanted the reply out before they concluded the Von Kaiser angle.
Still I might fix the flash version sometime. It's ashame you can't update Youtube videos without taking them down and reposting. Kills all the views and crap.
