Description Update: lighter and shinier version (plus transparent), to go better together with the Commodore:

---

For all the fans of the one and only β€” ZX Spectrum 16K/48K β€” retronated to pixels by yours truly.

It's not purist pixel art, as it uses gradients, blurred drop shadows and a texture for the background. But that's the way I like it, time to move out of the box.

Wallpapers in x2 size are available from the blog post: [link]

I'll have another artwork in the future that will have quite some of these games in it. Oh, and I already have one other one too:Β  Β

It's pretty big for pixel art, since I chose the size based on how much text I needed to get on each key while the pixel font being nicely legible. And then some vexel art techniques thrown on top to make it look stylish. Glad you like it.

Oh, haha, you probably need the derivatives right too for this. So yeah, go ahead, give credits and as long as it's noncommercial it's OK by me.

Wow, I used to play all day long with one of these! Good memories. There is a web site with a z80 emulator, it has several games organized by date, www.zxspectrum.net

There's one made in Javascript as well, so you don't need any plugins: jsspeccy.zxdemo.org

Use and emulator that outputs hardware accelerated screen (or run on win7+ i guess) and try fraps as it captures directly from the graphics card. Much better than camtasia. I used fraps to output my A Dream video and runs 720p HD at 30FPS no problem.

To the other things I can't help much. I only ever played with a C# emulator I used for my One Bit music videos on my YouTube channel.
