Well, almost three years later I was inspired to do this again XD The thing is I have a THIRD set in mind...featuring Torque, Cody, and Joel, but I'll get to that at some point.

If you look I used the same poses and expressions so, after I picked the three for this set I had to choose who got what pose/expression. Brandon was the perfect fit for Ryu's innocent and relaxed look. It was between TK and Luke now and I felt that Luke suited Cain's devious little smirk that says I'm sexy and I know it, while TK suited the serious look. He doesn't care how handsome he is he's just there for his woman XP It just so happens that the colors of the boxer shorts from the original picture also suited these three. Brandon has red for his red T-Shirt that he wears usually; black for TK since his shirt is black; Luke gets green, and better yet army green, for his military garb.

Man we've come a long way from the original three years ago XD I looked at the transition from sketch, to line art, to flat color, to full in my stash, and the small adjustments I made along the way made the proportions much better. The main thing was keeping their heads from being stretched to one side. The biggest thing is the ANATOMY. I mean...my word I'm beyond shocked at it still and I DREW it. I take inspiration my awesome little sister Gem; I referenced her artwork, namely the picture she did of Kephalos and Athena, when I was drawing my guys. They just...they look so awesome. It's just a shame only Luke shows off the full spread, but that's no big deal. TK's crossed arms look amazing...especially since I usually hide the hands like I did with Penumbra. Brandon is one of my favorites though cause...look at his arm bent by his head, or just his arms and hands in general, and compare them to Ryu up there...yeah XD And the ironic thing is drawing it wasn't actually that hard at all. I didn't really have to adjust it any while doing the lineart.

I colored TK first. Obviously with all three of them I've got the new fur texture and my "hair" brush. I used bristle on Ryu, Penumbra and Cain, but I've really improved my method for hair, eyes too. I did all three of them in separate folders so I could move and adjust them if I needed to, and also just to make coloring them easier since Brandon covers TK and TK covers Luke. My favorite part about TK besides his gorgeous hair is the water droplet stone he has...I experimented while coloring it and loved how it looked. The stone, the anatomy, and just the guys in general, are what I love about the picture.

I started with a red background similar to the one from the original but started tweaking the hue and got two versions I liked. I liked the original red but it didn't make Brandon pop enough due to his red hair. That's also the reason why I'm keeping the second version, the "Fire" one in stash, since it has red in it and again it doesn't make him pop as well. What I loved about this was how it had the look of a shower of gold like out of a treasure room just something very exotic.

But yeah, there you have it. Brandon Rodnara, and then TK who is Takeru Rivera...we came up with the last name just tonight XD Rivera it suits cause of the water thing even if TK can only use ice. And of course Luke Bertier who is probably always going to be a favorite I just love him so XD ll three of them really. Gem says she wants to do a version of the girls to go with this, that is, Spirit, Lye'lyei, and Latiro...I'd love to see that so let's make it happen little sis XP

I do hope to do the second one with Joel, Cody, and Torque at some point but for now enjoy! I love this one I'm so happy I decided to reboot the idea XP ~
