Just a little something for Father's Day <3

I've always felt so bad for Aranelion and Elianaron, having gone through so much in their short lives, and not even having their father through most of it. They had a father until they were eight years old when an attack on Angel Island changed their lives forever.

It was their father's kindred them that offered them the only acceptance and love they had ever known outside of their mother and father, and it was gone in one night. Sure, they forged on without him, but I could see them looking at their father as their constant protector and Guardian Angel no matter what they had to endure. They remain close to him even when he is no longer with them.

And so, on a day like Father's Day, I could see them feeling alienated from their friends, save for Knuckles and Hidama, who are in the same boat, as they watch a large part of the world around them celebrate their fathers. The problem is, Aranelion and Elianaron don't see why they can't celebrate their father too, just because he can't be with them to be hugged anymore.

Taking a moment on this day, the boys sit down and remember their father, the one who, with their mother, gave them life, and always inspired them to keep trying no matter how bleak and dark things became. As much as they love him, it's a painful reminder of what they don't have anymore...what they will have to wait until they die to say to Armundae.

"We love you father."

Until they can be together again, the twins will take a minute to remember him. This is his day after all.

So yeah, this is for all of us who have our fathers to hug and give gifts to tomorrow. This is for those of us who can take our dads out for dinner and tell him how much we love him. But this is also for those who don't have that opportunity; who, like the Brokenstar Twins, are left only with a moment to remember their fathers in order to honor him until the day they are reunited.

Let them know they're loved...
