I've been using her stock for awhile now just to do practice poses, but when I saw this one I immediately thought of Luke. I also was really into the song "Shed Some Light" by Shinedown, both the original and the version they did with Lzzy Hale from Halestorm. This turned into kind of a sad picture, again with my AU, but a version where Leslie Paylor dies.

It's just a really emotional piece. Luke takes his losses very personally. For example this is likely one where they didn't exactly get romantically close, but he took protecting her very seriously because she was a wounded girl that joined with his platoon to have something to hold on to. Like he does in the main story, he tries to keep her spirits up, and gives her special attention to keep her from becoming a withdrawn, reclusive spirit. She's someone special for him to watch over. Now imagine they're in a battle and she dies right before his eyes. He has enough time to hold her and say goodbye, where she smiles and says simply, "thank you" and for him to try and find his own way, before passing away.

I could see this affecting Luke very drastically, to the point where you have him sitting in the rain just holding that gun.

The song doesn't match 100% but it's the one I associate with the picture and why you've got this image of Leslie shedding some light. See in the main story by the time Luke meets Latiro his mind is kind of in a dark place. He smokes marijuana for pain but it's so bad he uses it to go to sleep at night. He's got no direction in his life and it takes meeting Latiro to save him. In this little scenario as of this point all he has is Leslie's death and her spirit is the only thing he can hold on to for some light to guide him. So it's less of a romance picture and more of a cry for help on Luke's behalf.

Ugh, Luke angst, my baby XD That's what this is really about, just his pain. The title of the stock photo is My Own Personal Hell and again I think that suited Luke really well.

This was my first serious attempt at drawing a gun so be gentle please XD It helped having a reference. Again the stock just inspired me so thank you again to SenshiStock. I loved how this came out even if it's not perfect. I've really got to get better at backgrounds XD
