"Blood is thicker than water."

A snippet from WoLaD. I hate giving stuff away but considering how long it's taking me to write I figure I owe you all something, lol.

Remember I said the Brokenstar Twins, though supposedly powerless, are the most special Children of Arandor because they bring together the bloodlines of both Kashoku and Arandor? Well, for that reason Mukot hunts them down and attacks them whenever he can. They remind him too much of Arandor for how he loved both echidnas and hedgehogs, and too much of his life as Kashoku, his bravery, and how he brought the echidnas to the height of their power.

Even when Mikomi and Amarie come along, both of them bearing Arandor and Kashoku's blood lines, Mukot continues to hunt the twins, especially once he discovers that their Anti-forms Zenith and Nadir cannot be swayed to serve him, and, something else, but that's a secret.

He develops a new poison that preys on the Light in one's soul. In an attack, UnDark injects Aranelion with this poison, and it causes him to fall victim to evil. He immediately goes after his twin, Elianaron, determined to kill him.

Elianaron, however, loves his brother, and doesn't want to fight Aranelion. However, when talking doesn't help, and he is staring down Aranelion wielding his sword, the mighty Akrenar, Elianaron has no choice but to draw his daggers, Tempest and Twilight, and try to defend himself.

As you can see, Aranelion is bleeding, but not nearly as badly as Elianaron; again, Elianaron tries his best not to hurt his twin, and his heart weeps each time he must fight back.

His eyes red with fury, Aranelion has Elianaron cornered here. Unable to rise in enough time to flee, Elianaron closes his eyes and turns his head away, shielding it with his bleeding arm, knowing death is about to reach for him. All the while, he cries, and whispers, "Blood is thicker than water Aranelion; I know you are not the one who wants me dead. I will never leave you. I won't flee for my life. I'll stay and help you save yours, no matter what."

Anyway, I don't want to say exactly what happens, but Elianaron doesn't die in the next scene. Something happens to free Aranelion, but only for a little while. Shadow and Kashkie have to figure out how to withdraw the poison from Aranelion before it kills him.

That comes during the second and third major confrontations in the Wars, or possibly earlier. I'm not even sure if both of them are married. I'm still hammering that out. I do know it's after Zenith and Nadir swear their alliance to the Light however.

Anyway, there are several things in the picture that bother me. Elianaron's bent arm looks...off, and the angle of his head kinda bothers me. Aranelion's bent leg looks too long, and the left hand grasping the sword, the fingers should have been bent once more. Elianaron's right hand bugs me as well. His torso also looks a bit flat. I also think Aranelion needs to be a bit further back on the page.

But there are things like like about the picture. Elianaron's right arm, where I drew the elbow, I like that. That was my first time drawing in a joint from that angle. I also like how Elianaron's left foot looks. Finally the foot doesn't look flat. I love the cut on Ell's face, as well as the expression. Air's face also looks awesome, and I love how the blood looks flying off of Akrenar's surface.

I like focusing on the positive points in artwork. If somebody wants crits, they'll ask for them; if not, don't give any. I'm not asking for them here, so please don't offer them.

I really love the Brokenstar Twins...they're my babies. All of my characters are my babies, but these two especially. I love their strong bond. They have so much against them but don't give up the fight. I love them so...

And no...it has nothing to do with who they are based on...not anymore at least.

Those two are gone forever. I'll have Air and Ell forever <3
